View New Topic Pages
When I come to visit the forums I like to use the View New Topics link so that I get to see everything. One thing that really sucks about this though, is that the threads don't have links to different pages in that view, as opposed to if you were just browsing the actual forum.
Is there any way to make that feature include links to pages on the threads it's showing, or at least make it so that when someone clicks a thread through there, it takes them to the last post they read by default? =) |
Yes, there is a little button at the very end (right) of the page, beside the "last poster".
|
Well, this usually isn't a problem, but when someone isn't on for a few days, it does get very annoying. There actually isn't any way to just get to the very last post, unless the thread is massively large.
Maybe once vB3 comes out, this can be fixed, or a new system can be worked out. As of now, I don't think there is a quick fix. :( |
Plus, it doesn't seem to show all the new posts :(
|
Well, if you are inactive for more than 10-15 minutes (I forget exactly how long) all the new posts get automatically marked as read.
|
That is pathetically stupid

Cookies expire Robin, that's life.
Anyway, I'm sure WW could whip something up, but it's really not worth the trouble. Just go to the first page then click the page you want to go to, not that hard. |
very anoying.sumone should do sumthin bout it.

Indeed, it's not hard at all, but it also isn't hard to incorporate it. In fact, I think that one extra query that's required, would use a lot less bandwidth then it does for me to load up the first page of any thread, and then the one I actually want to read, so it's not just a convenience for myself and those who use that thing, but it can help out the forum itself. =p |
Bah, I'm not following very well what you mean? Please elaborate more, and talk to me like I'm a 10 year old if need be. :)
