can anyone help me, im new to html. can someone tell me how put a link on a picture. i.e. a banner that when you click it, it takes you to a different page.

Example:

<a href="url you want the image to link to"><img src="imagename.ext" alt="text you want displayed on hover" /></a>

That is correct.

Basically whatever is in between the <a href> and </a> tags are linked to whatever your src is pointed to.
