New Quake IV
Here is a hacked pic of Quake IV which is suppose to come out at the end of the year of 2004... Hope you like it if you haven't already seen it...http://www23.brinkster.com/somethingstupid/89.jpg

Sorry, but why is this in CG?
Link dosent work anyways |
You have to copy and paste the link for it to work. Come on, the error message even tells you that. As for being in CG, I assume it's because the pic is a render of a model.

I believe it deserves to be in this forum, because of it awesomeness! (if that is even a word) Here is a fixed limk to the Quake IV leaked image.... http://www.villagephotos.com/viewimage.asp?id_=4575568
I got this onto a free image hoster sever so... Have fun! |
Yes that is amazing... Only too bad is that the in game graphics won't be half as good :)
|
Yeah, renders are never examples of graphical prowess in-game.

undeadzombieguy... Unless they find some way to compress a huge load of shit and cram it into a 2cm^3 cube and then find some extreme cheap way of cooling. it won't happen. Most game engines don't even allow more than 100000 polies on the screen at once.... 1 of those smoothed ones are at LEAST 50,000
|
No offense to id, but I personally think Doom 3 looks shitty. Sure it's high poly but it's not clean, it's like a bump-mapping nightmare. It looks like complete ass in screenshots, but actually looks pretty good in-game ( hmm leaked alpha anyone? ) Half-Life 2, however, looks fucking amazing. Aside from a close-up shot of an alien with a weird bullet hole texture fuckup, the game looks downright beautiful.
|
The Doom III monster textures look rediculous.
Seen those flying heads?? WTF! |
Actually... Doom III is just low poly they've just projected the high poly textured version onto the low poly as a displacement/bump map
|
I love doom 3's shadowing effects, but that's about it. The monsters remind me too much of resident evil.
|
shadowing effect? please elaborate in redundant detail
