What are you trying to say?

SNES>All.

Raziel 2003-08-17 07:51 PM

This is retarded. It's almost as if you're assuming that a person would buy all that equipment solely to play SNES ports. I bought a Gameboy Player mainly because I don't like the idea of running down my GBA SP's battery charge at home. I use the portable at work, and the Player at home.

Sure there are plenty of fanboys who are going to buy the ports and that nifty controller, but to assume that a SNES fanatic would go out and buy a Gamecube, GB Player and neato controller strictly for the purpose of playing Super Ghouls and Ghosts is beyond stupid. Nobody in the world would unnecessarily spend 250 dollars solely for that purpose, and anybody that would deserves to lose 250 bucks anyway. The author of that picture is a moron.

Agreed., the author is an idiot.

Am I an idiot for thinking Nintendo's cashing in on people's desire to play old games instead of delivering new content? Or are the people buying the same game again idiots for giving their money to Nintendo?

Something that didn't come across clearly in that image I made was that Nintendo's double-charging the customer and the customer is happy to pay. Why couldn't Nintendo give us a screen that doesn't suck? Why couldn't they give us a modern handheld instead of this GBA piece of crap that was completed in 1996?

I wanted it to be a wake-up call. "Hey chumps, you already bought this game, and now you're paying again for an inferior version."

And the simple fact is many people ARE buying into this platform (both the GBA + GC w/ player) simply to play their old SNES games again. We've all heard the fanboy rallying cry: The GBA is the last bastion of 2D!

Does it matter to us that most games are rehashes and re-releases? It should.

!King_Amazon! 2003-08-22 11:12 PM

You don't have to buy it, if you don't like it then don't buy it, stfu kthx.

Raziel 2003-08-23 04:00 AM

NeoGeoMan, you're an idiot for assuming that a human being would spend 250 dollars SOLELY for the purpose of playing SNES ports. People pay that much money so they can experience GCN games and GBA games (both new and old) on the same piece of equipment. The GBA Player is cheaper than a GBA SP, so why not pick one of those up instead of the portable?

And you're also making the moronic assumption that only adults are buying these SNES re-releases. What about the kids who weren't old enough to own a SNES in it's heyday, or never had the opportunity to purchase these games in their original incarnations? What about those of us who no longer have copies of these older games, or never owned copies of the games (I for instance never owned a copy of the original F-Zero, so I purchased Maximum Velocity) and don't want to use EBay, or hunt a copy down through other means?

You make the infantile assumption that the only people purchasing these games are fanboys buying them because of some lame-ass gimmick. You've completely ignored a host of alternative reasons for spending money on these products all so you can preach to a bunch of nerds like some pasty, pudgy, bitter, internet geek-messiah. Pack your shit and hit the road, Wilbur. You've just been owned.

!King_Amazon! 2003-08-23 08:31 AM

Are they making games to go with this new SNES thing?

Raziel 2003-08-23 07:35 PM

What new SNES thing? We've been talking about The Game Boy Player this whole time.

!King_Amazon! 2003-08-23 07:39 PM

I don't know, seemed to me like people were talking about a new SNES attachment for the GCN.
