computer lock?
how do i lock my computer , like when someone else comes to use it and when they press the power button it says "please enter a password" to use the computer, iam not talking about the users thing where it saves each user's preferences, iam talking about a pass that you have to put in to lock your WHOLE computer so no one uses it only the ppl who know taht pass

Depends, but if your bios has a setting for it, you can go there. I can't really say where it's at, because they're all different, but I'd reccomend looking there first.

ok i tried and i changed the supervisor pass and the user pass and i shut down and and open comp but it still gives free acceess?!?
I think you can do it in your desktop properties, go to the screen saver tab.
No, its a BIOS setting. But I wouldn't recommend it, if for any chance you forget... eh... well...
If for any chance you forget you can just clear the bios.

What if he doesn't have a manual? He'd never be able to find the right jumper.
Unless he's a genious and remembered his whole mobo manual letter to letter o_O. Do all motherboards allow locking it?
No.
You guys are all wrong, its not through the bios, its through the CMOS settings.
Figure out what you're talking about before telling people they're wrong mmkay?

What do you think Bios runs off of? Cmos, you can do it with cmos alot easier than with bios, bios is a pain in the ass to remove if you mess up with it anyways.
