Remove the Startup Progam spam
You ever notice when you boot up your computer and tons of programs start to boot up? Well with XP and ME you can go to run, then type : MSCONFIG : Now you will want to go to startup and remove what you know is crap, like realplayer, and aim, and whatnot, junk you don't want running when you boot up. But beware, you don't want to disable your virus protector(s). You can also remove the processes with MSCONFIG.

Yea or just go to the programs preferences and change the startup setings.

in windows 2000 theres no msconfig.....=(
i downloading it but it doesnt work........ |
Thats because win2k runs off of a different set of programs, its more of a server-based windows. Let me look for a msconfig type command for you.

When I go to Start up I get a list of programmes. I would just like to know if these are any thing to do with system processes or they are just random crap.
IE: will i remove I remove anything important to the computer ? Thx |
Yes! There are very important things that have to start up. Dont remove things like Systray and such... I wouldn't remove anything unless you're 100% sure what it is...
|
If I do alt + ctr + del I have things relating to system, but if I do msconfig it all just looks like programmes not system processes, like my security programmes, msger, updreg, CTlauncher, and more.
There isn't anything like systray. |
