Graphics Card help pls

(Please don't flame me if i sound like a dumbass i obviously am when it comes to my graphics card)

I changed my card to a GeForce 4 MX440 SE (don't know if it sux but it's better than the one i had before)
& i sware that since it's been in iv'e lagged like hell on every thing, even just opening up an internet window to my home page is slow. It's not my connection & I dont have other programmes running.

Trying to play on line games is silly lagg is so bad
my ping is ok, its not spiking but my FPS is running at about 10-20

Please help me, think it might be a problem with the card? or maybe one of the hamsters that is powering up my pc has died???

First of all Geforce MX is a very crappy card its based on a Geforce 2! Get a card based on ATI chipset and how much cash you got?

I'd kill somebody for a Geforce 4 MX ............ i have to stick with a TNT2 for years to comes =(

What i need to know is if it sounds like i have a dodgy card.
Like its not working properly then i'll take it back to the shop, but i don't wanna go to the shop & have some moronic shop guy take the mick cos there is nothing wrong with it.
The old card was a Matrox 450 , I was told it needed updating.
If I change graphics card then i just want a good enough one to play games on cos I don't do any really heavey graphical effects or use any major programmes.

A geforce 4 MX 440 can play all the latest games......of course if you want Top of The Line grpahix card you should get the latest ATI one , but ti costs a lot...

i dont think the graphics card has anytyhing to do with your internet slow but u should be getting at least like 50 fps but i dunno

Yeah & this has only been happening since I changed the G card nothing els has changed.
Would My ping be high if it was my connection lagging?
because my ping is fine its just the FPS.

High ping = Slow connection / Problem with connection
FPS = Your comps specifications. Better stuff higher FPS
