Well...I took the driving test 2 times......
The first time was for experience, really.

Any tips?

Hmm...I took the test in Canada, where the roads are flat, wide, no much traffic....the first time I failed due to dangerous action :x

Woman and driving.
Thats something dangerous!

Well what i did is put some classic music and relaxed. The stupid stuff happen most of the timewhen your stressed so just take it slow you wont get in trouble for taking your time. Most ppl lose most point on stop. Cause they just slow down lot and almost stop and keep going. To make sure you dont lose point there stop and wait like 2 sec anyway you need to check each side so it s no big deal.

And it's safer ;)

Well....I didn't stop at one of the stop signs at the very beginning of the road test. No car was around though...and she failed me for that.

mm Good tips, let me write it down. "Stop when you see a stop sign" heeh

Also thanks Kuja.

Sound stupid yet it s one of the most useful 1 to limit your point loss :)

Oh, and try to exaggrate your actions. Make sure the examiner sees your shoulder checks, mirror checks, etc...

Don't try to act cool and just peek at the mirror...hehe.

Ganga 2003-06-19 01:14 AM

Ya. I can see. Didn't stop one time and you bam, fail the whole test...

Ganga 2003-06-19 01:17 AM

ok cool, let me remeber them!!! Thinking in my head "stop when you see a stop sign.. and don't act cool..." Got it!\

Shit sorry for the double post... :x

Just make sure if you switch lanes to look over you're shoulder, I'm bad about not doing that.

It's really simple if you've practiced. I passed on the first try. The only really difficult part are the three-point turns. Watch those.

Senesia 2003-06-19 01:53 PM

And listen to the examiner's instruction...my second try, the examiner told me that, whenever I pullover, treat it as a stop as if I'm going to leave the car for the day. Which means shut off engine and everything.

And...he only mentioned it once...

I almost forgot he said that.

I was bad about that, too...untill the time there was something there (*shudder*)

DaFrigginDoctah 2003-06-19 02:34 PM

My sister was bad at it as well. She was with the driving instructor, she goes to switch lanes to the right and looks over her shoulder but claims that the car there that she didnt see was in her "blind spot", so she goes over, it honks, she swerves hard to the left, almost plows into a fucking semi truck, she stops on the shoulder and yells in front of the instructor "I dont wanna drive anymore!!!"

I've got my learners permit, I've had it since the beginning of may, and I haven't driven once, I'm scared to death of driving.

Eddie_Perez 2003-06-19 07:59 PM

Well, I think the best tip as a pretty experianced driver, is to not drive like everyone else knows how to drive. What I mean is, think of everyone as idiots that could easily make mistakes... Dont trust them to signal, or whatever!
