Bump! We're in 28,665th place out of 141,248. We need to get into the top 100 for it to significantly help Zelaron's popularity, so keep curing diseases with your computers and PS3's!

Xenn 2008-09-14 12:24 AM

Haha, we need 29 million to crack the top 100. We have about 5500.

Goodlookinguy 2008-10-11 07:59 PM

Bump: Start folding people!

Kazilla 2008-10-11 08:08 PM

I tried it and got lost somewhere so gave up.

Wallow 2008-10-11 08:18 PM

Well, I guess I started folding. Hope it doesn't take up too much RAM, don't want my laptop running slowly as a result.

Lenny 2008-10-12 04:56 PM

Can't do it at Uni - can't get my PS3 past the block, which is a bitch, and any heavy usage of intarwebs gets one blocked (I got a warning for uploading a gig of videos to Facebook!).

Wallow 2008-10-12 07:19 PM

So far, Zelaron's folding team consists of:

Chruser
GoodLookingGuy
Spector
Xenn
And yours truly

We need more peoples!

I am trying to get my comp to do it but can't find out if it is working. I don't think I am even connecting.

Chruser 2008-10-13 03:35 PM

I'll start running the program again in a week or so; I'm having computer-related problems at the moment.

Asamin 2008-10-13 04:59 PM

I seem to not be able to connect. All it does is say "(Auto-start)"

Asamin 2008-10-14 01:33 PM

Sorry, I would like to join but my comp won't connect and it is making my comp lag like there is no get out. I couldn't even force quit D2.

That's strange. Is CPU or memory usage causing your computer to lag? The CPU usage should be adjusted automatically to prevent problems. I'm running Folding@home on a Windows XP system at the moment, and only 60 MB of RAM has been assigned to the program.

I'm setting up an old 2.4 GHz Ubuntu system to run Folding@home as well. Join the Zelaron team, guys!

Chruser 2008-10-17 03:50 PM

My second Folding@home client is up. Soon I'll be in the lead yet again.

Dang I suck. I guess I need to fold some more. Yet the experiments never end and I usually turn off my computer before they're finished.

Wow, I didn't know about that bbcode.

Sorry, but I doubt that. I'll get my PS3, and other three computers started.

Asamin 2008-10-18 06:01 AM

I am still trying to get one started :p

Wallow 2008-10-19 06:37 PM

Dangit, each simulation takes like 36 hours! I had my computer turned on for almost all of Sunday, and it progressed to only a little bit above 1/3 of the simulation. I wish there was a save button so I could restart a simulation I stopped a previous day.

It should resume on its own once you start it up the next time.

Anyway, it's time for another update!

GLG has completed an additional 3 work units while I have completed another 2 since the last update. No-one else on the Zelaron team has contributed with work units since then. :(

We have also gained 1005 positions on the ranking ladder.

Perhaps this will be updated automatically:

It's statistically impossible, given our current (or even projected) rate of progress, to get to a high rank.

Linear progression does not apply in this case.
