This is on Starcraft though, hopefully this will be the same for Diablo 3.

I'd assume pay2play with battle.net would not be received positively.

This would be excellent. I know the Diablo community along with the Starcraft would deter sales for sure.

There's a discussion in that thread I linked to on B.net forums.
Someone argues that B.net being P2P will reduce the numbers of immature players.. wishful thinking.

I'm pretty sure MMOs disprove that. I was playing P2P games since I was 13.

And 99% of people playing WoW are immature.
