SpaceX, Boeing to put Astronauts into Space by 2017.

SpaceX, probably my favorite corporation of all time is making the leap with Boing (by winning contracts from NASA) to revitalize the space industry, and eventually will lead to some sort of colonization on Mars. The actual timeline may be skewed as they are just predictions, but from what we've seen so far, everything is tending to remain on schedule.

SpaceX has already sent cargo to the ISS

It will be an exciting next two years to see how the two progress.

I was disappointed by their failure earlier this month. I was really hoping they'd hit the target first shot.

What are you talking about? They did hit the target first time! It's just that the fins ran out of hydraulic fluid and the first stage didn't exactly land as planned...

It was a phenomenal first attempt, IMO. This near landing is only going to translate to better results in the future. I'm with WW in regards it would've been fantastic to have it land the first time. I guess we'll just have to wait a few more months for the next attempt (not sure when that is exactly).

Elon Musk did admit the probability of successfully landing would be around 50%, and when asked about that figure he said it was completely a made up guess. Funny billionaire.

Guess they won't be putting astronauts into space in 2018, either. It's funny how billion dollar corporations use the media to persuade giving them more money for projects.
