I'm hiding

In this thread... my work is giving out random drug tests right now, I hope they don't find me!

-Spector- 2009-07-08 09:05 AM

11:05 - 2 more people taken to the "white house"

-Spector- 2009-07-08 09:17 AM

11:17 - My friend Andrew failed. Goodbye Drew :(

Lenny 2009-07-08 09:19 AM

I don't get this - why are companies so desperate to fire the druggies? You're doing an office job, right? Worst case scenario is that taking the drugs could enhance your performance...

Random drug tests in offices confuzzle me.

Anyway, good luck!

-Spector- 2009-07-08 09:24 AM

11:24 - Someone else failed, they're refusing to leave. Managers are being paged.

-Spector- 2009-07-08 09:25 AM

I have an office job yes, but 90% of the people working are either driving a forklift, or packing car parts on the floor.

This is awesome.

Since when the fuck do they test a whole office at random? How many people do you work with?

Lenny 2009-07-08 09:28 AM

Ah, that explains it. Are you ever called to do physical work? If not, then I see no need for a drugs test for you... unless the managers believe in equality, and want to demonstrate that by testing everyone, be they manual labourer or office worker.

-Spector- 2009-07-08 09:31 AM

Nope, I never am but I think the equality thing comes into play.

D3v I think they're trying to get rid of employees without having another layoff, and this is the most legit way they could do it.

That totally makes sense. Drugs usage is probably a direct violation of whatever terms and agreements the employees signed when they took the job. Then firing will just be a just cause.

You are correct.

You are missing the point.

!King_Amazon! 2009-07-08 10:06 AM

I, along with a large portion of the other 300 or so employees of my company, work in a lab with dangerous chemicals and equipment, as well as really expensive and fragile products and equipment. They drug test us when we're hired, but there are no random drug tests unless you're in some sort of accident. This seems like the most logical/fair way to do this.

Well obviously if you sign a drug screening consent form on being hired you can be tested/fired at any time if caught. But Lenny has the right pont.

that's more of where I was leaning.

Yikes. Good luck.
