UT or Q3?

Alright, it wouldn't be fair to ask UT2k3 or Q3, there is no sane person in the world who would say Q3...

But lets look at what was the shit 2 years ago. id's Quake 3 or Epic's Unreal Tournement.

I vote UT, Q3 just wasn't fun!

ut

q3 was just a techdemo to show off id's new engine

it seems to still be popular. but i dunno. UT2k3 looks amazing as is, but id's new engine for Doom III will put it to shame easily. And i'm sure that Quake IV will use that engine. (funny enough, every Q4 screen shot i can find are accually Doom III screen shots).

I love the doom series, and i just hope id does as good as they did on the first two.

I think id learned something with Q3 though, people love the deathmatch. Unreal was a mediqure shooter title, and the 'botmatch' sucked dick (too easy). I think that was competing with Quake II, but now it's a whole diffrent ball game.

I used to hate Deathmatch. Then again, it's easy to hate deathmatch when it's Duke Nukem 3D.

Clearly UT. I just don't like Q3's theme. Hundreds of space churches gets annoying after a while. :)

unreal1 was one badass SP game. I got sucked into the atmosphere in no time. loved it. was also the first game to simulate outdoor "ok-ish".
quake2 had some interesting parts but overly it was just laughable.
doom3 = ut2k3
doom's sp and ut2 is mp. never ever mix those two!!!

Um, have you heard about the limitations of the D3 engine?

Only 4 monsters max per room. Very tight corridors, no open areas at all (they bog down a state-of-the-art system). Doesn't sound that great to me.

Also, multiplayer is limited to 4 person deathmatch over a LAN. It'll need serious work to make a competent online game out of.
