Obama’s Communist Mentor

http://www.aim.org/aim-column/obamas-communist-mentor/

It isn't my view that Obama would turn the U.S. into a communist country, but I don't like the affinity for it...

Do you guys not see the danger of Marxism?

I am a Marxist in principle.

So I just read that. You guys really should too! Obama is definitely a communist or a fascist! You want proof? Baby, they got proof. Cliff Kincaid has all the evidence you need. Just read the link Adrena posted. Get this: when Obama lived in Hawaii during his preteen and teen years he recalls being visited by a man named Frank, a black poet who had once hung out with Langston Hughes in Chicago. And they think that man was Frank Marshall Davis, who was outed as a commie by Joseph McCarthy in the 50s.

What? You need more evidence that Obama is a commie? Damn, you people are skeptical. Well take this, you pagan secular humanist Jew-loving socialists: Lisa Schiffren knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that Obama is a commie because she knows lots of mixed race couples and mixed race couples are always communists:

Quote:

Obama and I are roughly the same age. I grew up in liberal circles in New York City -- a place to which people who wished to rebel against their upbringings had gravitated for generations. And yet, all of my mixed race, black/white classmates throughout my youth, some of whom I am still in contact with, were the product of very culturally specific unions. They were always the offspring of a white mother, (in my circles, she was usually Jewish, but elsewhere not necessarily) and usually a highly educated black father. And how had these two come together at a time when it was neither natural nor easy for such relationships to flourish? Always through politics. No, not the young Republicans. Usually the Communist Youth League. Or maybe a different arm of the CPUSA. But, for a white woman to marry a black man in 1958, or 60, there was almost inevitably a connection to explicit Communist politics.
Game, set and match, Obama, you commie pinko! But wait, she's not done yet:

Quote:

Political correctness was invented precisely to prevent the mainstream liberal media from persuing the questions which might arise about how Senator Obama's mother, from Kansas, came to marry an African graduate student. Love? Sure, why not? But what else was going on around them that made it feasible? Before readers level cheap accusations of racism -- let's recall that the very question of interracial marriage only became a big issue later in the 1960s. The notion of a large group of mixed race Americans became an issue during and after the Vietnam War. Even the civil-rights movement kept this culturally explosive matter at arm's distance.
And therefore...Stalin himself was the one who set up Obama's parents, with the explicit goal of creating a charismatic communist son who would one day take over the United States and bring back the Glorious Revolution. Christ. This may be the most ridiculous political smear campaign I have ever seen.

I would say that this is in the realm of crazy tin foil hat conspiracies, except that would be an insult to crazy tin foil hat conspiracists. The only different between the National Review blogger and the crazy guy on the street corner is that the National Review blogger probably bathes more regularly.

The constant stream of bullshit that the conservative movement generates completely outstrips one's ability to parody it. Keep in mind this spew is not on some white power website, but on the website of a widely respected conservative magazine (although it's getting harder and harder to tell them apart, isn't it...).

I would love to live in an era where I could argue with conservatives over tax policy or budget items. Sadly, I do not. Instead, the conservative movement is in thrall to absolute lunatics. Like the creationists, they do not rethink and reconsider, they regroup and rearm.

If there's one good non-policy related thing that will come from Obama's candidacy, it is that it will finally force the mainstream to confront the lunatic and the prejudiced base of the Republican Party. Since the Nixon era, Republicans have been able to have it both ways: they are allowed to make racist dog whistles, while at the same time, claim they are not racist. But to go after Obama like this is so overt that these attacks can't avoid notice.

Of course, this assumes the political press corps will decide to report about it....

!King_Amazon! 2008-02-20 05:53 PM

I didn't even bother reading this because I know it's just a bunch of bullshit already.

I also heard Obama is a muslim and he's the illigitimate child of McCain.

Grav 2008-02-20 06:03 PM

That was funny shit.

Adrenachrome 2008-02-20 06:17 PM

Racism racism racism, who is bringing up race?

And when did anyone say Obama was a communist?

Just incase you are confused, affinity means an attraction to, not steadfastily believing in. Though maybe I'll actually read your idiotic post later if I get bored.

WHOA! Thanks for the English lesson! Until now I was under the impression that Oxygen's high electron affinity meant that Oxygen had promiscuous sexual relationships with electrons, not that it simply attracted electrons. This clarifies that borderline A in chemistry!!

Adrenachrome 2008-02-20 06:37 PM

Sure Sure, I'm sure you meant well in that last post, but the questions I raised still stand.

Where did I state that he is a Communist?

Who keeps bringing up race?

slaynish 2008-02-20 06:37 PM

lol. actually, Fluorine has the highest electron affinity on the table of elements...

Grav 2008-02-20 06:39 PM

Thank you, high school!

Adrenachrome 2008-02-20 06:40 PM

Damn and here I thought this forum section would be devoid of spam.

slaynish 2008-02-20 06:42 PM

That's such a load of crap. First off, you want to link to an article saying that Obama has communist ties, raising the idea that he has communist "affinities", and then you want to turn around and claim, "well I didn't explicitly state that he's communist." Don't obfuscate things with semantic arguments.

Read the article I linked to.

slaynish 2008-02-20 06:55 PM

He didn't state he was comminust. He just said he had affinities and ties. I read no where that he said he was a commi.

That would be like me saying that I have affinities to dudes, and all my friends are queers. But that doesn't mean I'm gay myself.

Context is such a wicked concept. Don't worry, that's not until junior year of high-school.

slaynish 2008-02-20 07:03 PM

Context doesn't mean shit. Aren't you a junior anyways, MJ?

But in this case, context doesnt mean shit. You accused him of saying it. He did not directly say it.

He's almost a junior. In college.

P.S. You are wrong, and are playing Bill O'Reilly games.

He's only a year older than me though...

slaynish 2008-02-20 07:35 PM

In this case, and some others, it doesn't. Just because somebody says something it doesnt necessarily mean they believe in it.
