Salt Water as Fuel

While attempting to cure cancer, a researcher discovers that burning salt water can act as a fuel. Check out the video for more information:

That is pretty amazing. It looks like it burns very cleanly and I wonder why this hasn't been made a bigger deal.

It would seem, though that they are just freeing the hydrogen and oxygen with the radio energy, then reclaiming that energy by burning it. I don't see how this can be an energy source if the only byproduct is water vapor.

Because the Government makes people like this "disappear" when they find out a way to slow down their profits. Why don't you think there's been a cure for AIDS yet? Because they can make trillions in Health care money helping you "live" with it.

We haven't cured AIDs for one or both of these reasons: We haven't figured out how to! or We don't want to lose our best method of population control!

LOL YOU MADE A FUNNY. But seriously, why do you think Magic Johnson doesn't have HIV anymore? Because there is a cure out there, it's just not mainstream. Toss up that dough to have it removed and you'll be homefree, if not, continue to live off Medicaid and suffer from Aids and your 20-pills a day treatment.

That's well and good, but if the energy you have to put in to start the reaction isn't significantly less than what you get out of it, it's worthless. As are 99% of "amazing new energy source" discoveries. Oil is so useful because it basically has millions of years of energy put into it.

D3V 2007-07-26 11:46 AM

Well that, and it's combustable. I still thing the Soy thing is going to take off, the natural food that we can "grow".. the only problem is we don't have enough of it, and until every state steps up and contributes on a massive scale, our prices are still going to be as high as gas, which eliminates the purpose, other than eliminaiting some of the toxins we put into the air... Oh, and you need an E85 conversion kit, or a diesel motor to run.

But hell, on pimp my ride they put a TT Chevy motor into an old Impala I think, and it had like 800HP and ran off of Biodiesel, so I see nothing wrong with that, shit it stomped a ferrari.

I seem to remember reading something about a fusion reactor, I think it was, months ago (it was the Chinese "Supersun" project"). The fuel for it was deuterium, which, if I remember correctly, is found in very high concentration in large bodies of salt water.

Vollstrecker 2007-07-26 02:30 PM

From what I understand, Fusion is still at a very poor input:output ratio power-wise, which as Grav said, is the main reason that alternate sources are not being implemented.

The other reasoning being that Oil is still available, still highly profitable, and still in the personal interests of the government.

Since when does Magic Johnson not have AIDs?

Anyway, for the soy-fuel argument, you know with the current process it pretty much uses more oil shipping and processing soy than it does to just drive the car.

Yea...Magic still has HIV.

Wed-G, how do you suck so badly? It's rare to find someone who really, genuinely sucks. With no obvious redeeming qualities. It's just sad. It's... pity... that I feel. I feel pity for you.

Don't suicide, but damn, man. Make your life worth living... at least a little.
