Randuin 2003-02-22 11:38 PM

Chruser 2003-02-23 05:45 AM

LightWave! I haven't bothered playing around with any other 3D packages lately.

Randuin 2003-02-23 10:33 AM

you haven't seriously played with any other 3d packages anyways =\

Acer 2003-02-23 12:43 PM

I've used 3DS for quite some time, but my experience with MAYA is very limited. I have never tried SoftImage and Houdini out myself, I've just seen some professional people do so.

Acer 2003-02-23 03:33 PM

I used 3DS once, but I didnt do much.. just some shape animations

Randuin 2003-02-23 07:32 PM

maya is fun to work with :) loft is the coolest tool ever

Acer 2003-02-24 11:23 AM

That is it! I am installing Maya, and going to mess with it. I would have to say to know PS too, that always helps(Dont have to, but it is good to understand Gradients and stuff).

Randuin 2003-02-24 04:46 PM

okay acer... watch my lofting tutorial and make a complex character (it's not that hard, just time consuming) i dunno make errr... mini mouse may be? :D

Acer 2003-02-24 05:33 PM

Yeah I plan to do your tuts

All_Aces: I think you should continue with maya and look into LW.

Randuin 2003-02-24 05:36 PM

my maya tuts are enough to get you into really complex organic models... may be not architectual or mech but organic definitely :)

Acer 2003-02-24 05:50 PM

I am going to focus learning LW in its strong points, and Maya in its strong points.

Randuin 2003-02-24 06:10 PM

k... =\ w/e

Acer 2003-02-24 07:46 PM

Randuin, what sites do you use for Maya tuts?

Randuin 2003-02-24 08:44 PM

Apparently I never read and maya tuts, they just didn't explain enough to do anything, that's why I'm planning to go to a 3d school for it :)

Acer 2003-02-24 09:01 PM

I C, that is no good then :(

Randuin 2003-02-24 09:07 PM

i'll release a serie where i try to... i dunno model a car may be?

Acer 2003-02-24 11:45 PM

Sounds good, I say for a tut, dont look at what you are makeing but how much learning can be learned out of the tut.

Ok All_Aces, did you just post and not even come back for an answer? Uh... must of registered, asked a few quesitons and forgot the site link :p

Randuin 2003-02-25 12:20 AM
