DBZ Live action movie?

Looks legitimate, also IMDB.com has it as post-production... so we'll see.

This video looks like it's been chopped up a bit, but the special effects of it look real, interesting.

If true, it's about fucking time. I was like 10-11 when I first saw Dragon Ball, and then a litlte older when I moved onto DBZ, and they're just now turning that series into a theatrical production, looks cool though I'd actually go out and watch it :nerd:

Here's the original link I had found.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1098327/

Yea man, I am actually pretty excited about it, but at the same time not expecting much. Games and TV shows usually end up sucking as a live action film.

It's a hard call really. But then again if Akira Toriyama is really involved, it should at least mimic the show and fit in story wise. I am definetely going to see it, I loved the show (DB/Z/GT - not nearly as much).

It has potential.

I could have sworn that half of those clips in that link are from a movie called deep impact. I'm also pretty sure that there was a matrix fight scene in there.

(Or is this just your early April fools day prank O_o)

Willkillforfood 2008-03-31 06:07 PM

Lol, that's fake as fuck.

------------------------------------------

Looking at the cast, it seems as though they're taking this movie somewhat seriously. We've got the computer graphics to finally pull this off but it'll take an A movie budget ($100 mil+ most likely). That's gonna be a lot of mouse time :D.

Heh, nice. That video was rather funny, combination of Day after Tomorrow and some others.

Vault Dweller 2008-04-01 11:49 AM

Caught a clip of Star Trek: Generations in there.

D3V 2008-04-01 12:04 PM

Rofl, I swear this isn't an april fool's joke, just the Youtube videos are all fake, for the most part.. I've seen some shots of the characters and they look legimate just the scenes from the movie are fake.

Sovereign 2008-04-01 02:03 PM

If this movie does very well, perhaps hollywood will make a life action high budget eva movie O_O

That would be pro.

Wed-G 2008-04-08 09:31 AM

Well, obviously if this movie does as well as we hope, they should make a DBZ movie.

Don't know much about Dragonball.

Hmm, just mentioning his role briefly, I guess apparently 20th century fox has a gag order in effect with his contract, so he doesn't really spill any information. Just check it out.

Damn, i am a much bigger DBZ fan then DB but ill still watch it. I was kinda interested to see how they did the super saiyan hair

D3V 2008-05-01 10:27 AM

I think they're going all 'ole natural.

gruesomeBODY 2008-05-01 10:31 AM

Well, maybe they will do a trilogy then, ending with Buu haha

D3V 2008-05-01 10:56 AM

Hell we can only see, I just don't want to be let down with this movie, translations from tv/cartoon to big screen is a hard thing to do, hopefully the casting crew and production guys can pull it off.
