How could they make a diablo 3? you kill everyone and destroy all means of resurrection in the expansion. They must be pretty desperate.

There have been theories about what could happen. Either way, the guy who writes the Diablo books has come up with story, so there's stuff there to be done. We'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah, I wouldn't get your hopes up. It's completely possible, but there have been rumors about Diablo 3 for YEARS now.

I'd be more amped up aronud E3 and shit, that's the most likely time you'd hear anything.

They have WoW. Why would they need to make Diablo 3?

I suppose, but they're making SC 2, made WoW, and should be making another Diablo game. It just makes sense.

I can see it both ways. I just think that another Diablo game is inevitable. It may, however, be 5 years from release. World of Warcraft is most likely not going to be a perpetual success. Like most things it should hit a peak at some point in time ...but I guess it could be the exception.

Runesacpe shouldn't have been a success either. But it was. Because of this WoW is most likely to continue being a success.

WoW is pretty much at its peak already. They used to make pretty regular announcements saying they were at "5 million" "6 million" etc. They haven't done that in a long while, now. I doubt they're on a decline, yet, but I don't think tons and tons of new subscribers are still flooding in. WotLK might change that a bit, though.

Yeah very true. I think WoW is around 9mil subscribers, which is fucking nuts. They've made such an astounding amount of money compared to what it costs to run the servers, staff etc. I mean it is a huge budget, but still. I know a lot of us are just tired of the whole WoW genre and want to get back into Starcraft 2 / Diablo 3. Atleast I know I am, but like said above I wouldn't hold my breath.

Well, Diablo 3 has been around for years now, and they've been hiring more people for their next-gen MMO that they've already said they're working on, weather it be Diablo or a new game all-together we're just gonna have to wait :(

Hell, they announced Starcraft 2 a year ago and they're still working on it, and aren't even close to being done, apparently. But like most of you guys I would love nothing more than to have Diablo 3 on the shelves in the near future.

I could see them releasing another expansion pack for Diablo II.

Actually, if you look at the top news post on that site, they say it's not going to be a D3 announce.

That was posted after I put the thread on here. It's a recent development. It still has piqued my attention though. I didn't think it was a D3 announcement but something D3 related that showed their committed interest in developing the series.

Hmph! Anything new is always a good thing, even false hope can still help things stay in the limelight.

I thought the Wii was fake for a very long time before it was publicly announced. D3 just might be the same way.

I've been waiting for D3 to come out forever... it may never come though :(

Some people suggest it could be an announcement that Blizzard is buying diablo3.com.

However, the owner of diablo3.com has said that he would give the domain to Blizzard at no cost if they wanted it.

WHICH I THINK IS FOOLISH. Doesn't he realize he could sell it to them for a TON? He could get a million easy.

Nintendo bought the domain name pokemonwhitegold.com does this mean anything? Not necessarily.

Why would blizzard, 6 years after releasing D2: Exp purchase D3 UNLESS they were actually going to be going through with the game, which would be excellent.

We'll just have to wait and see what it is. The guy said that it's a "solid clue of things set in motion." Basically, what this means to me, is that he's going to tell us something that pretty difinitively states that Diablo 3 is in the process of being made.

Then again, I'm not getting my hopes up. There have been too many times when everyone thought Diablo 3 was coming out and it never did.

Knowing that blizz does this kind of thing a lot, they could just be messing with our minds to see how much hype it brings. The amount of hype could result in the decision to make a D3 though.

Blizzard isn't doing this.

Blizz can be a real jerk sometimes. Besides, D2 Expansion came out 6 years ago. Why would they wait 6 years to make D3

I guess we just need to wait 'til May 1st, and go from there.

Who knows. They might make us wait even longer.
