What do you collect?

When I was younger I used to collect rocks and gems and such... I told my 1st grade teacher I wanted to be a paleontologist when every other kid said they wanted to be a teacher or a fireman.

But as I aged I dropped that habit and began collecting money and coins..

I have lots of solid-silver coins that they don't make anymore including some quarters and half-dollars.

I have a steel penny from WWII when there was a shortage in copper.

Also, since my grandma has been to almost every country, she gave me different types of money/coins from about 50 different countries.. pretty cool to look at.

So what do you guys collect?

HandOfHeaven 2007-10-12 07:10 PM

I use to collect every single beer bottle cap from each beer I drank, but stopped doing that at the end of this past summer. I like to collect things from England, especially soccer stuff. I have a few soccer magazines, posters, two jerseys, and a scarf that were all purchased in England and brought back for me.

mariofan 2008-01-01 08:01 PM

Silverjinx18 2008-01-18 05:34 PM

When I was a kid I used to collect Clowns. I now collect movies and records :).

talentedhamster 2008-01-18 05:54 PM

Sovereign 2008-01-19 03:06 AM

Everytime I read a book I stick the sticker from the bookstore on my wall.

Atnas 2008-02-01 05:33 PM

I collect foreign coins and spam email.

Goodlookinguy 2008-02-02 12:22 AM

I collect minerals, they are so shiny!

slaynish 2008-02-02 03:32 PM

I collect empty cans of chewing tobacco.

Have about 33 empty cans of grizzly. Me and like 3 other friends do. Once we reach around 400(between all of us) we are going to make a grizzly-3D-pyramid.

Fuckin' sweet.

I realised tonight that I seem to be collecting USB pens:

- An old 32mb pen of my mums that I use as backup for certain documents
- An old 64mb pen of my dads that I also use as backup
- My first USB pen (a 256mb one), which I use to give music to people
- My second pen, a 4gb one that I usr to give people programs
- My current 'main' pen (32gb that I bought in November)
- And my newest pen, which was from my Uncle to say thanks for building his computer. It's a 4gb Sandisk Cruzer, and the best thing about it is it's U3 -- basically, it's a USB pen designed for portable apps. Billiant little thing.

That's six USB pens in total.

Oh! And there's one.

Whenever I have an exam, there's a little ticket on my desk with my name, candidate number, and the exam details on it. I collect these and staple the ones from each exam season together. So far I've got four sets. :p

Atnas 2008-02-07 05:25 PM

Today I found an assortment of stickers I had been hoarding.

Liger 2008-04-02 10:12 PM

I collect movie tickets and dragons :B I have a nice safe spot to keep my tickets (yeah ok, it's just a used tic-tac container that I keep losing) but I want a better place to store my dragons as about half of them are broken now :(

Vault Dweller 2008-04-03 01:14 AM

Half-finished video games.

I still pick up comic books sporadically, but couldn't consider it a "collection."

Chruser 2008-04-03 03:25 AM

Books by Syd Mead and the FAX +49-69/450464 discography.

Asamin 2008-04-03 03:26 PM

Those temporary tattoos. I have, or now that I look I think I had, a whole lot of them.

Goodlookinguy 2008-04-04 05:37 PM

I collect sketch books, now that I think about it. Yes I sketch in them, but when there full, I keep 'em, so that's collecting.

D3V 2008-04-04 05:50 PM

Nothing anymore.. just misc parts for my car I suppose..

Random bits and bobs.

Just random things. And we've started to trade them at our school.

I got a zipper and a hello kitty party toy just last week for a CD and a lock.

Pogs? I remember those. What year are you from?

Goodlookinguy 2008-04-05 06:04 PM

I own some pogs! My brother owns some special pogs, he was pog master, along with his friend who is in the war right now.

He collects pogs. How many other people here collect, or know someone who collects pogs?

Coffeedagger 2008-04-06 06:30 AM

It's too bad some will never know the majesty of pogs unless they try to bring em back. Although bringing them back seems very unlikely given what is out there today no one would buy them in favor of newer things like... well whatever's the new things today.

Goodlookinguy 2008-04-06 06:40 AM

I just found out, I collect wrappers, I literally don't throw away wrappers, and I don't have an excuse for not doing so. Laziness, leave me alone!

I traded a CD with a few albums burnt on it, I think Juturna by Circa Survive and Tiger & the Duke by The Sound of Animals Fighting.

Draco2003 2008-04-11 02:28 AM

I've a few pogs and a couple slammers. I seem to collect movie stubs and reciepts(sp?) which I end up throwing out so those are short lived collections. My drawings, I actually 'go through' them quite fast, and end up throwing them away...
I don't really collect anything long term. I just save stuff for like... 4 months, then I go through and clean my room and throw it all out...

except the pogs... I won those from a claw game I used to have at my restaurant... those are special to me...

Oh and spiderman related anything... I got TONS of spiderman related stuff...

Thanatos 2008-04-11 07:54 AM

I recently found some panties in my room. Thinking about making a collection should I find another pair.

HandOfHeaven 2008-04-11 09:00 AM

I'm waiting for some dumb person to say 'STDs' in reply to this thread.

Thanatos 2008-04-11 09:49 AM

Yes, because I have sex with multiple women I have STDs... not. I was recently tested (and if you have an active sex life, you really should) and I'm clean.

Bring on the ladies.

HandOfHeaven 2008-04-11 10:00 AM

Honestly, that was not directed at you. I didn't even read your post. I just looked at the thread title and thought 'venereal diseases' would be comical.

Asamin 2008-04-17 06:39 PM

I collect virginity's. Can I have yours?

Coffeedagger 2008-04-17 06:41 PM

No you don't asamin...

But really, I collect video games and stuff.

Same here. I have a good 700+ video games! I just never thought about that as being something I would consider to be collecting, but now I do, 'cause in a way it is.

Coriander 2008-04-18 09:22 PM

I collect arrow heads O_o But it's not really a good collection, only 84 of them.

Lenny 2008-04-19 07:10 AM

84 isnt very good? I'd say it's great!! Puts my collection of six USB pens to shame, at any rate. :p

Atnas 2008-04-19 08:47 AM

I have a collection of sprites. I love just surfing the net and saving cool looking sprites, even if I'll never use them.

Wallow 2008-04-19 11:57 AM

I used to collect legos, but now I just collect souvenirs from around the world.

HandOfHeaven 2008-04-19 12:02 PM

Legos kick ass.
