Adult forum
 

For the past little while now there's been a behind the scenes discussion about the posibility of an adults only forum. The idea we pretty much came up with was we would have an "Adult Discussion" forum which would pretty much mean you can talk about the nastiest shit you want, 18+ kinda stuff. Then there would be another subforum for pretty much having porn/models/etc. That forum might end up being split into separate sections if it gets enough activity and the activity is diverse(Swimsuit Models/Softcore/Hardcore/Hentai/Gay/Furry/whatever.)

The forum would be a private one, probably requiring moderator approval for you to enter, or some other sort of system. The fine details haven't really been discussed yet.

Be aware, if you're not 18+ or close to being 18, your vote and opinion won't really matter much, since you won't have anything to do with the new forum.

Please give some feedback in this thread, suggestions, opinions, anything is fine.

Like I said before, we have one of these Adult boards on peta-sucks.com. It's a really fun place and we typically have some good stuff posted from all around.

So I say we should do it. It'll be a totally kick-ass idea. :)

I think it would be a good idea. Might make it interesting. Certain... 'odd' forums should be private even to the 18+ though (Example: furry + hentai) as these are odd interests and are prone to much mockery ~_~. One person should be in charge of giving memebers approval to see such forums. (Kagom can have furry)

Not necessary, if people go in there and ridicule others for what they're doing, they'll most likely get kicked out of the 18+ forum. As that forum will have less moderation than the others, I would think/hope that rules would be enforced very harshly.

However, what of those users who lie about there age? Should there be a certain amount of time you've been a member in order to post in there?

That's why I agree with Sov on the whole member needs approval.

I suggested that only members and Senior members should be allowed in. If a person lies about their age, they would be responsible for it. Most likely there will be a disclaimer just like on porn sites.

Members will need approval to get into the overall adult forum. Sov was saying members should need approval to get into certain "fetish" subforums for the main forum, which is uneccessary.

Would sup mods then be given the ability to ban from individal forums if a problem pops up, or would we just temp ban them until an admin can come ona and change their viewing ability?

If people lie about their age, INSTA ban. Providing porn to minors is illegal. Zero tolerance imo.

I don't know details such as this. There is currently no system set up, and no idea how it will be set up. Don't worry about minors getting in, that will be dealt with. I just want to know what you guys think about the idea.

No. Normal people enjoy porn too. They'd keep all this shit in the adult forum anyway.

I'd guess that people won't know about the adult forum unless they're told.

I don't know if it's possible, but maybe a PM could be sent out to them when they get Member or Senior Member status, telling them about the forum.

Obviously it won't be visible to those who aren't in that forum group, so who's to know it exists?

Look at the Dragoon forum at the bottom of the page - you can only see the public bit, and not the private bit.

There could be a public bit where people can request admission, rather than being sent a PM inviting them in when they get to a certain status and age.

Eh, I don't think it'll be all that cool, plus, mostly the only time I check Zelaron out is when I'm at work, and I'm assuming that I'd now have to view it with discretion because it won't be work appropriate.. I voted no.

I couldn't care less about an adult forum for the moment, to be honest. I won't be old enough to view it for another nine months or so, so I might as well vote "no". But I won't, because !K_A! did state in his post that the opinions of those under 18 really don't matter for toffee in this case. :p

You don't feel that this would divide the forum? The forum has seen a bit more activity, but this kind of thing has the potential to seperate the forum into 'haves' and 'have-nots', if the adult memberbase no longer actively participates in the older Zel sections, especially if more adults come to the site.

If it does happen, is there a possibility of a setting or linking accounts so that I can not have the Adult section show/load if I'm browsing from work? I'd like to keep my job and keep Zel from being blocked.

Since WW has the same concerns about it being NSFW, we would have to come up with some privacy system if this happens.

What about if you name the forum something that isn't easily recognisable as an adult forum, and when the forum header is clicked only then does it show the posts - when you view it on the main page it will look like the Talk to the Staff forum does to non-staff... if that's possible?

Or have no forum header at all, but a link in Quick Links?

Unless you've got access to the forum, you won't ever see it at work. If you don't want to participate, you don't have to.

I don't think it would divide the forum at all. It's not going to be like a "general conversation for the adults", it's going to be a section for adult topics and porn. Anything else will still be posted outside of that forum.

I also view Zelaron at work quite often. Also, if we DO end up getting it, I'd suggest you not include the extreme stuff (hentai, furry). Just keep it civil. We don't need to go branching out in the porn business. If you do it at all, just keep it simple.

I wouldn't consider hentai "extreme." I enjoy it from time to time. Furry porn on the other hand I would consider extreme, but we have to be considerate of all people involved :P

Wait ...aren't you an adult at 16 in Britain? Like you're out of highschool at least. If you go off drinking age then I'd be out in the U.S. since you have to be 21 x_X

I still think it's 18 for the UK.

16 and you're the legal age for sex and marriage.
17 and you can legally drive.
18 and you can drink.

Although you can live on your own, get a job and leave full time education at 16, I don't think we're considered adults until we're 18.

Which is fine by me. Means I've still got 9 months of free dental checks and eye tests. :D
