Movie -- 300

So who here at Zelaron has been smart enough to dish out the hefty cost of watching of a movie and saw this flick?? If you haven't, let me suggest that you do so, immediately! This is an awesome movie that needs to be seen on the big screen. Of course, watching it on DVD will give you to option to watch and rewatch and rewatch every kickass fight sequence this amazing movie has to offer, but until you see it on a screen that no normal house can offer, you are missing out on cinematic genius!

If anyone has ever seen Braveheart, Gladiator, and Troy, let me indulge right now to give you a little better understanding of how ridiculous this movie is.

When I first saw Braveheart, I thought William Wallace was the baddest man on the face of the Earth. That was until I saw Gladiator. Enter the era of Maximus Decimus Meridius (or something like that?), as the new greatest hero in my eyes. He was a better trained warrior, and his fighting movements were swift, lethal, and better thought out than Wallace's. Just when you think it can't get any better, Troy is aired, and although it didn't do as well in theaters and with reviews as the other two movies, there is no doubt that Achillies would kick both Wallace's and Maximus's ass in a sword fight, and quite possibly, both at the same time. Hector, from Troy, is probably on the same playing field as Maximus, if not very close.

Now, imagine a movie that gives way to 300 warriors, of which most are on the same fighting plane as Achillies! Every movement these men made appear to be with the thought process of a chess player, keeping 10 moves ahead of the opposition. Sheilds were used in ways that no other movie has shown yet, and their movements had such raw power and ferocity behind it, that it made me wiggle and giggle in my seat like a little school girl that has her first crush. It was almost embarrassing how much I enjoyed this movie, and yes, in my lifetime, I can almost imagine that I will certainly watch this movie at least 300 times. It was THAT kickass!

To wrap up, see this movie, and see it in the theater. If you like the three movies I mentioned above as much as I do, you will LOVE this movie. Frank Miller, my hat is off to you good sir.

Seen it on IMAX. I've never seen so many severed body parts in as short a time before...

Thanatos 2007-03-14 07:11 AM

........

I can't wait to see this.

!King_Amazon! 2007-03-14 08:13 AM

See it in IMAX. It's absolutely amazing. Me and Nikki are going back to see it in IMAX again. It blows all of those other movies (gladiator, troy, what have you) out of the water. Probably the best movie I've seen this year. Only other movie that could possibly compare was Bridge to Terabithia but I think 300 wins.

gruesomeBODY 2007-03-14 11:16 AM

i went to see it, but it was sold out. Ill get around to it. And Gladiator kicked the shit out of Troy by far. Brad Pitts a pussy

!King_Amazon! 2007-03-14 11:21 AM

300 kicked the shit out of Gladiator and then ate it and shit it out so it could kick the shit out of it some more.

Titusfied 2007-03-14 05:20 PM

Yes it did. It definitely blew away Gladiator. A lot of my friends that haven't seen 300 yet are making fun of me for making such claims, but I just keep telling them to see the movie, THEN talk to me. I can't wait to see it again.

!King_Amazon! 2007-03-14 06:08 PM

I'm going to see it in IMAX again for my birthday :P

slaynish 2007-03-14 07:39 PM

MightyJoe 2007-03-14 10:20 PM

Looks good, so far everyone I've talked with has loved it. Hopefully I'll have some time to see it before it gets released for DvD.

Hades-Knight 2007-03-19 03:49 PM

They actually made Xerxes the way he is just to make teenage boys in the audience feel uncomfortable. "What teenage boy isn't uncomfortable when it comes to an 8 foot tall God King that wants to dominate you and have his way with you?"

Looks like they succeeded in your case. Insecure about your sexuality HK?

Willkillforfood 2007-03-19 09:19 PM

I gotta see it. I saw some of it on a video online but I figured watching it on the big screen would be much better than a 19 inch LCD =P

Great-Thanatos 2007-03-19 10:28 PM

I've seen it twice already... I love that movie its friggen awesome.

Titusfied 2007-03-20 05:20 AM

Yup, I saw it again last night, and clearly, if any guy saw this and thought it was gay, he should be sticking to Sandra Bullock movies. Fucking loser.

Thanatos 2007-03-20 07:17 AM

Wow.. I think tomorrow I'm going to go see this bitch. It sucks when you're constantly busy. I don't have fucking time!! ahhH!!!

Titusfied 2007-03-20 03:16 PM

Dude, you definitely need to find time to see it on the big screen.

Willkillforfood 2007-03-20 07:16 PM

I saw a video of their workout routines on yahoo's main page. That's some crazy shit. They flip tractor tires over and over through a long room while jumping into them then over them. They also run at a weight while having a bungee cord strapped around their waists to give them resistance and finally stop them as they try to grab the weight. Definitely looks more entertaining than the traditional dumbbells and shit =P.

Sovereign 2007-03-20 09:00 PM

1,000 needles chat demanded I see this movie.

Thanatos 2007-03-22 08:52 AM

I finally saw it last night.

Fucking AWESOME. Although, I don't think anything will beat the part in Troy where Achilles is woken up with two women around his arms, and then totally demolishes that big dude in one swift stroke. Genius.

Titusfied 2007-03-22 09:29 AM

Well, that is obviously because he makes every man jealous of that scene. Ha!

Hades-Knight 2007-03-22 12:54 PM

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the final scene where Leonidas stands and the thousands of arrows come down on him, none of the arrows hit his crotch area.

!King_Amazon! 2007-03-22 01:10 PM

So put that in a spoiler tag dumby.

Titusfied 2007-03-22 04:54 PM

Nor did any hit his head.

Willkillforfood 2007-03-23 10:55 AM

Yea ...would have been pretty hard to watch a guy take an arrow in the nads. I still haven't seen the movie though x_X. You ruined it for me you bastards omg. =p

Dar_Win 2007-03-25 10:50 PM

I'm going to go this weekend. It sounds amazing.

It is amazing. I highly suggest that everyone go see it before it's out of theaters. I'm sure it's going to be great on DVD but it's MADE for theaters.

gruesomeBODY 2007-03-26 10:03 AM

My friend went to see it and told me that a kid screamed killtackular after a fight scene. For all of us Halo fans, that means the guy had 4 kills in a row within 20 seconds of each other without dying. I thought it was funny because even in a movie, people scream halo verbal abuse.

!King_Amazon! 2007-03-26 10:42 AM

There are parts where they are seriously just slaughtering the enemy. It's amazing how awesome the spartans are. The funny thing about your story is that Master Chief is called a spartan if I remember right, and the guys in the movie are spartans.

At one point in the movie this spartan guy goes berserk (not going to tell you why) and he pretty much just goes on a fucking solo killing spree. It's nuts.

You just have to remember not to take the movie literally or as fact. So many reviewers gave the movie bad ratings because it isn't historically acurate or possible or whatever, but it's not supposed to be. It's supposed to be a feast for the eyes and that's exactly what it is. The nudity in the movie is tasteful, the fight scenes and scenery throughout the movie is absolutely beautiful. It's a theater movie if I ever saw one.

gruesomeBODY 2007-03-26 06:52 PM

Actually, if you read the halo books, the super soldiers that were created were called the spartans. They were named after the 300 greeks that stood thier ground. Its funny to think about and read, but is awesome.

Titusfied 2007-03-27 08:03 AM

Heh, I didn't know that. Interesting fact Gruesome.

lol omfg dude we were watching too to see if he got hit in the nuts!

Lenny 2007-04-07 05:33 PM

I saw it today at the Imax, and I have to say, apart from coming out feeling a little small, and with a headache starting, what an amazing film!

Who cares about historical correctness?! This is Hollywood damn it! If I want to eat a rosy red apple whilst the injured are being taken care of, then I will damn well do so! I am King, after all.

Anyone notice the way it was actually filmed? All dark colours, with gold -nothing really bright. It kinds gave it a sepia feel.

I think I can also thank you guys for making me notice how no arrows hit him in the head or groin. I liked his crucifiction pose, too!

There's a question... the guy on the white horse who lopped off the Captain's son's head... where did he go? We didn't see the body of the horse on the ground in the scenes that followed, in fact, we didn't see it again at all. What gave?

gruesomeBODY 2007-04-07 08:34 PM

i cant wait to go and see it. It was between this and TMNT, and since TMNT was the biggest cartoon i watched a as young boy, i ahd to pay to see this first

Dar_Win 2007-04-07 09:38 PM

Movie was fucking amazing.....I love how they have the fight scenes. How they follow just one Spartan killing person after person. I loved the one where they had the two Spartan guys fighting side by side.

Willkillforfood 2007-04-08 01:08 AM

William Wallace would come in and own their faces.

KagomJack 2007-04-08 10:47 AM

Finally saw it last night. I have to say I loved it, though at times the slow mo stuff annoyed me (particularly when it wasn't a fight or battle).
