I have decided to start this discussion thread, to see what everyone things about my descision of closing the World Record Thread. The thread itself is consuming a huge amount of bandwidth, and I'm really not that far from getting kicked off the server for being a resource hog.

The deal with the WRT was that everyone was allowed to "spam", as long as it had some kind of purpose. As the thread got closer to 10.000 replies, I had to issue my first warning to some users for abusing their privileges, after they had covered a few pages with completely useless posts using an automatic spammer bot.

After issuing four warnings (the last one was to someone who recently covered 16 pages of the post on his own with things like "uifsegh"), I gave everyone a serious warning about the post, and told everyone strictly not to spam, or I would close the thread.

However, that did not work, so thanks to one user (I'm not mentioning any names), I really got mad and decided to close the thread.

However, I would like you to discuss all of this. There is a possibility that I might decide to reopen the thread if you can come up with a better idea for it. Making such a large post become lost and forgotten isn't that good, and it did boost Zelaron's activity, but there is NO way I will let it be open if people ravage the little bandwidth we have. Oh, and by the way, the PayPal support hasn't worked too well, and as long as I have to pay for the whole site out of my own pocket, I reserve the rights for myself to do whatever I want to do.
I know it might sound a little harsh, but that's the truth.

I have a forum of my own http://forums.thepunkit.com at my main site www.thepunkit.com and I gave some of my friend admins and mods now 2 of my friend s abused it making outers mods and admins I was pissed I mad them all regular user and only have 3 admins the ones that did a good job as for the mods we only got 3 and they are supper

Now your proibly wondering what this has to do with any thing. Well as u can see they abused their privileges like some people did on wrt by posting numbers to get more posts so they got it taken away

also payi8ng for a huge site is not easy I am paying 150 a year for mine and I do not have a job so I think it is a good idea to close it for a little bit and see why we should keep it open

Personally I think if we fallow the rules and promise not to Spam stupidly then it will be good

i think it was a good idea... some one turned off the timer in that thread (nameless i know who but i'm not gonna distribute it) and people went CRAZY... unregistered got 700+ posts in like 3 hours... and mr.lee also managed to rake in 500+ posts... please people no random things like "skdal;fkda" it's just pointless extremely gay spam... I'll be sorry to see people get banned like that... and another thing... counting like 1,2,3,4,.... is also not very good it's just same thing as "kdsal;fk" so ya i think it shoulda been closed... btw... i've been saying in the ad-mod forum... close the chat room entirely... because people can't properly spam... at least i say stuff... that ppl can understand... that is all i have to say

The Zelaron WRT started on 28-03. We reached 10k replies on 05-27.
Another forum started a WRT too. They started on 05-08 and got 10k + replies on 05-18 !!!
WHY ?

I guess because of these rules : and It has already been said, but posting lot of 'jhjhdz' don't help to discuss...

PS: yes I used to spam on WRT, i post about 800 replies there, but 99 % are useless fact. The 1 % is just replies to previous posts. I never posted crap like 'hkjhoiù' , just because i hate this. :)

These rules came up with the 'WRT' based on another forum.

I stated those rules clearly, but someone got the idea to merge two threads later on, so the rules got lost to somewhere on page 84.

I'm probably the one who got the WRT closed, but I'm glad it is closed... it lets people focus more on the actual point of forums.

I have more then 1k posts and it didn't took me taht long, I'm everything but lifeless, i use to post between 2-6AM cuz diary(non weekend), there's a few to do at that time other then using the inet....(actually when i post in teh evening is cuz, 4 some reason, my friends or girlfriend cannot go out...)
