Would you ever choose to be a host?
 

It's 5:30 and I'm watching stargate sg-1 dvd's. It was an episode about the Tok'Ra.

I'm wondering that IF this was possible, if these things existed, would you agree to be host to one?

-The Tok'ra are basically parasites.
-They enter through the mouth and latch on to your upper spine / into the brain
-You would split control of your body with it, switching between you two.
-It has the power to completely take control of you, but chooses not to.
-Your life expectancy will be about 200 years.
-When the symbiote is in control, you basically can see everything but you aren't in control.
-You have a perfect immune system. basically no disease can kill you, and your wounds heal in no time.

Well I'd wanna get to know my parasite first to see if he was a dick. It wouldn't be cool to get one of those things and then have him take over almost all the time.

Only if Nikki agreed to it too.

I'd damage a small portion of its brain so that I get all the benefits without it coming out and talkin smack about my homies.

If it can take control of you whenever then it's a definite no. And then there's the fact that it's a parasite.

Are the tok'ra generally assholes or nice guys? I'd probably do it if they were generally nice and loving. Otherwise I would get one when I'm like 60 or if I get sick/disabled real bad.

They aren't suicidal. Their memory is genetic. The queen who spawned them was a 'good guy' who created them to fight against their evil counter parts. Sure they CAN take complete control, but it's against their highest law.

The compliment to this question is would you consider a romantic relationship with a Tokra and its host?

Yeah. I think I would. It would take a lot of getting used to though. You know the whole waking up with the girlfriend, and her eyes glow and now you're talking to the symbiote. But from what I understand, the host and symbiote share their emotions, so I wouldn't be waking up to a cold personality that hates me.
