Mydogisyourdog 2004-10-16 06:33 PM

hahahahahahaha....oh god. I remember watching this video of all these D&D freaks dressed up, out in the woods, having some kind of "battle". It was fuckin hilarious...and sad. very very sad.

KagomJack 2004-10-16 06:35 PM

I'm sure it was just plain-out pathetic as fuck. :D

Acer 2004-10-16 06:37 PM

I love D&D, played it for 8years... I can't play it anymore tho, no time. It is fun when you dont take it too serious and you are goofing off with friends. I can't stand when geeks play it

Tyrannicide 2004-10-16 08:18 PM

Wow, *rolls dice* its a pleasure to be 30 years.

lol man D&D is teh ghey.

Slim 2004-10-16 08:30 PM

"Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt!"

KagomJack 2004-10-16 09:01 PM

omgomgomgomg!

Bigby's Crushing Hand will now pwn you >>>>>>>>>>=========OOOOOOOOOOOOO

Tyrannicide 2004-10-17 09:36 AM

Well, my melee ranged attack has a base of 10, plus my weapon which is 12, so my total melee is 22.

Sovereign 2004-10-17 10:05 AM

D & D sucks. SO does this bullshit 10 character rule.

Tyrannicide 2004-10-17 10:16 AM

That is sooo true man, take it up to the staff.

Sovereign 2004-10-17 10:17 AM

It was created and implemented by the Webmaster. He wont remove it because he thinks its going to do something positive to the forums.

Tyrannicide 2004-10-17 10:18 AM

If by positive he means increase the amount of spam then he is correct.

Thanatos 2004-10-17 10:32 AM

How would it increase the amount of spam? It doesn't do anything but get in the way.

Tyrannicide 2004-10-17 10:35 AM

I mean by people just including stuff like this in there post "dsaftdsgadfsgfafdhfdh" or "this messege is too short. Please lengthen it to atleast 10 characters" That thing, not posting non stop in suscession.

zagggon 2004-10-17 10:44 AM

Yeah I agree the 10 character limit is pointless, there will always be the spammer that will do anything to get himself heard.

Tyrannicide 2004-10-17 10:48 AM

Yup, like all those D2 members. I r teh 1337!57 member, I ned hax05s.

That's live-action roleplaying, and that was horrid.

The SCA is better. There's something to be said for getting dressed in armor, and smacking someone in the head as hard as you can.

zagggon 2004-10-17 01:02 PM

Cheech and Chong!

Tyrannicide 2004-10-17 02:07 PM

And CHINK CHONG.

Raziel 2004-10-18 03:07 AM

D&D rules. LARPers are terrifying.

Anyone who disagrees is getting a Magic Missle to the face.

Penguin 2004-10-18 07:28 AM

Without D&D most of the mmorpgs and games that are based on the concept would not exist.

No, no there's not.

Acer 2004-10-22 08:30 PM

Very true, most peope misunderstand D&D or end up starting with gay people. To me, it is as fun as the people you play with

Grav 2004-10-22 09:36 PM

MAGIC... MISSLE!! *throws beanbag*

It's actually quite fun, when you actually have a War going on, and tactics is actually important...

You don't think sword fighting with other people in a one-on-one basis or in a general melee would be at all interesting?

Grav 2004-10-22 10:05 PM

It is if the blades are real and people lose fingers.

Vollstrecker 2004-10-22 10:12 PM

No to the swords, and the fingers can easily be broken.

Grav 2004-10-22 10:13 PM

Then fuck it.

i doubt thats true. Besides, LOTR came before D&D (could be wrong)

Jamesadin 2004-10-23 09:42 AM

Penguins right. D&D inspired alot of fantasy games out there. For example: Neverwinter Nights, Ultima Online.

Randuin 2004-10-23 10:04 AM

It wasn't created by the webmaster, you tool. It was created by some annonymous vBulletin developer, it's on by default with an installation of vb3. Chruser and WetWired are just too lazy to switch it off.

Randuin 2004-10-23 10:05 AM

Can't say for any other games, but the entire Forgotten Realms series (Ice Wind Dale, Baulder's Gate, Neverwinter Nights... etc) Are based on either 2nd or 3rd edition rules.

KagomJack 2004-10-23 10:31 AM

LOTR came before DND. DND takes much from LOTR.

Randuin 2004-10-23 07:14 PM

Dispite of what you may believe, D&D does not have annoying dwarves that sing all day. D&D does not have wizards that just swing their swords around.

LoTR blows the nuts.

KagomJack 2004-10-23 07:19 PM

my point is that LoTR gave much of what we have for DND...

Vollstrecker 2004-10-23 07:41 PM

It gave a common setting and a basis for the Fantasy world to take flight from. Tolkien was a help with that, but he was hardly irreplacable.

Acer 2004-10-24 09:33 AM

If you look at D&D and LoTR, not much is in common. Just the creatures who have been made up way before both. LoTR had a magic ring, a wizard who did nothing and some bad guy who never faught but in the prologue and a few other magic items. Good book/movie but nothing to what D&D gave.
