Because people have NO LIVES. AT ALL.

Actually, I find that Smarterchild is actually quite useful at times. If you give it your area code, you can get information on movie theaters and times and what's playing and such. It's helped me out many times.

SmarterChild is simply an AOL bot programmed to offer AOL to those customers who have AOL Instant Messanger. IF you talk to him/her/it long enough, then he/she/it will reply with offers from AOL. Though it is more amusing to some to swear and make funny comments, SmarterChild has a limited amount of responses. Btw, If SmarterChild is really some forty-year old man living with his parents, then wow. Just wow.

I once meant to say something very obscene to SmarterChild, but accidentally said it to a girl I know, cause all I looked at was the "s" at the beginning of the window.

Could SmarterChild be human? There is a [] chance yes because it isn't hard to make a program to respond to a messege. It is hard to make a program to respond to a message in a certain way, which depends on what the message was. If, in fact, SmarterChild is human, I would probobly say sorry to him/her for swearing my ass off or just being rude. But I don't think SmarterChild is human, just a bot programmed to keep us informed on offers of AOL.

No human can respond instantly to hundreds of IMs a day.
