The ladder system
For a very long period of time, the Sc:bw USeast ladder system was rigged. All of the people that were on it were at 9999. If i recall correctly one of them had over 50,000 games under his name -_-. Well a little while ago, blizzard finally cleared the ladder. Just a few weeks after that, i already see people in the 9000's. What do you guys think blizzard can do to keep these cheaters off of the battle.net server. Im thinking they should restrict the number of games that players can play in a week to two or something like that. That way, players wouldnt be skyrocketing to 9999, and people who got there accounts erased for ladder abuse wouldnt be able to get on for quite a while. What do you guys say?

Ban since it s humanly impossible to play that ammount of game in sunch a short time ! Blizzard has to start waving their Nazy stick they been using on diablo2.
Cheating at SC/BW is inevitable.
Well obviously there will always be those dirbags out there who cheat. But there are ways of limiting this cheating. What i listed in teh first post of this thread was just one of the probable ways to cut down the amount of cheaters crawling up the ladder.
I dunno why they wanna be on top so bad that they turn to cheating anyway.
mmm
btw bnet is already doing alot of things with the cheaters, if you havent notice they started banning cd keys. they have a detection on bnet and they detect bnet third party programs, third party programs are programs that modify brood war scripts. so basicly they know evry 1 that hack, but its about 80% of battle.net so they dont ban theym all or no one would be on bnet any more, so they banning theym gradually just to scare theym. |
I say BAN EM ALL ! The only way to fight cheating it s whit the cdkey banstick !

Get rid of ladder all together.
Why? That would ruin the competitivness of the game.
The real competitiveness is the game itself. If you care whether or not people can see you on a list of people, that's pretty sad. I don't really like ladder games anyway.
I always went for a losing streak anyway, since I wouldn't be stressing out about winning, and I would relax and play well. |
losing on ladder is t.t
I agree with !K_A! You really should get rid of the ladder, who gives a shit. Ok, your at the top of a game, .... so what, shows you have no life more than other people. If you can brag to your 'online friends' about being the best then you should really get out more.
If you can't play the game for what it is, then don't play. |

And that's why they cheat to get to the top.
Yea but if a few scumbags cheat and you take away the ladder, you will be taking away the privaledges of LEGIT players like my friends and i to compare ourselves to other players across the realm. It would be better to find a way to SOLVE the problem of cheaters instead of getting rid of the cause of the problems. Its liek killing a person just to get rid of a wart.
They shuold ban cheaters...or perhaps put a fine for ne1 who abuses their servers. That would probably seriously deter cheaters. I mean...it doesn't have 2 be a hefty fine...just like 10 dollars or something would do. Another thing...i dont think the ladder system was absolutely necessary in sc neway. You could play just to play...and the way it is now with only hacked players being at top they should do away with it alltogether...perhaps reinstate one at some point in time when they can better control the hackers on their servers.
I think you should have to have like 30 wins, or 50 played games, before your can play a ladder match.
1 Ladder match per day. |
50 wins to ladder, 1 ladder per day would be best.
Yeah. Or maybe even 1 ladder per week. I mean, all of the real players don't rush into 20 ladder games in a day.....
Not 1 per week, maybe 10 per week.

Well, in the Diablo 2 1.0 expansion patch, they introduced the mail system that can recover the password. Maybe they can do it for Starcraft too? Like um, for an account you need to enter an email address and Blizzard also locks onto your CD Key. Then, when they detect a hack, they mail you a warning, after the third warning or so, they ban your CD Key. I think thats a way of stopping cheaters huh? They can't change email address to get away since the CD key is there. And honestly, if they can't stop after being given three chances, they really should deserve to be banned. I think it might work, and if they say that they the email address isn't theirs anymore and crap, Blizzard can just turn their head to it like they did to Lost Hardcore Diablo Characters. Why listen to the nagging if they shouldn't be hacking to begin with?
