Battle! Raziel vs. Sephiroth
 

Another one of the forums I frequent has an entire board dedicated to character battles. So, I decided I'd carry the theme over and start doing this every once in a while.

Our first bout is between the anti-hero of the Soul Reaver series, Raziel, and the villain of Final Fantasy 7, Sephiroth. So, who wins? I've already made my decision, but I'll explain why later. I want to hear other people's arguments first.

It's pretty damned obvious who I voted for, but I want to hear reasons from people when they vote. If you're going to post your opinion, state why you have that opinion.

Raziel is so much more badass than Sephiroth.

Well honestly, I don't know who Raziel is, so I voted Sephiroth because he was a bad ass dude in FF7 that wreaked havoc everywhere he went, until Cloud crushed him with an Omni-Slash that is... Seph and his long ass killer sword is my favorite video game villain of all time to date, so of course I went with him.

All of the soul reaver games sucked IMO so I chose Sephie.

Raziel in Soul Reaver is an Imortal Vampire there for Can not be kill so i think he would win although i think Sephiroth is really cool:)

Raziel is the best & if you think soul reaver or blood omen sucks you no you suck becauces the legacy of kain sereis (witch include blood omen,blood omen2,soul reaver,soul reaver 2 & deifance when it comes out) is 1 of the best games ive ever played in my life

Okay, I am not happy about this.

Raziel can't die, and can shift dimensions. Sephy's just really strong. Raziel would own him.

Yeah, Sephiroth doesn't have a chance. Raziel could just shift into the other plane, heal himself, then shift back and continue the raping.

Okay, so I guess I'll explain why I think Raziel would destroy Sephiroth. I'm at work, and bored out of my mind.

#1 Raziel is immortal. His corporeal body can be destroyed in the Material Realm, but all that happens is his wraith form materializes in the Spectral Realm and regenerates health until he's powerful enough to re-assume his physical form. Since time doesn't exist in the Spectral Realm, Sephiroth could slice Raziel in half, watch his body disintegrate and then regenerate instantly a few feet away from him. The only way Sephiroth could kill Raziel is if he were capable of following Raz into the Spectral Realm, which he can't.

#2 The Soul Reaver is a wraith balde, concentrated entirely of energy. So, it bypasses things like armor and other weapons. Going sword to sword with Raziel would get Sephiroth killed in a matter of moments.

#3 Raziel is the ultimate badass, Sephiroth is not.

Sephiroth would probably take Raziel down a few times, but he'd be back in a new body before the old one had even disintegrated. In the end, Raziel would open wide and devour every last bit of the villain's soul. Yummy.

Then why is this even a fair fight? Maybe instead of making a battle where one of the villains can't die should be illegal...

Because I was hoping someone would come up with a good argument as to why I'm wrong. A slim chance, but I've seen people put up really good arguments in matches that seem almost impossible to win. That and I'm bitter about the fact that Sephiroth beat Raziel in the Great Gamefaqs Character Battle 2.

Yes, I don't see how you can say sephiroth isn't bad ass. He's one of the most bad ass game villians there is.

Would someone please find me a good picture of Raziel so I can see this badass dude? I just looked on Google for like 15 minutes, and I couldn't find a good picture of what the fuck this mut nigger looks like... I'm very agitated because of this... As you can probably see, nigger... NIGGER!!!!

Can we pit characters from books (Dragonlance is what I have in mind) against video game characters?

It wouldn't be a videogame character battle, now would it?

I'd like to see more of these, Raziel... this is a better version of the GameFAQs Character Battle.

From now on, pictures of the two should be posted in the OP, just to let the viewers get an idea of who is fighting.

Also, I figured that nobody would go for it. I'm just such a huge fan of the Dragonlance series that I thought I'd ask. I guarantee Raistlin would own Raziel. If anyone wants to discuss it, I'd be happy to oblige. :)

Frankly I don't care what kind of characters are pitted against one another. I just made a new one today featuring Samus and The Predator. Like I said at the beginning of this thread, there's an entire board dedicated to character battles at one of the other forums I frequent, and the only thing even close to a rule is that DBZ characters are not favored kindly in these battles. They're just too damned powerful.

But, now that I think about it, you've given me a good idea, Robotic. Zelaron should have it's own Character Battle Tournament. Only, instead of winners being decided solely by votes, there should be a couple of judges. The judges should base their decisions on who puts up the best argument in favor of the character they think would win. That way it wouldn't just be a huge popularity contest like the Gamefaqs Battle Tournament.

Now if only we could convince Churser to give us a nice and shiny Character Battle forum once we have a bunch of these going.

Since when is Sephiroth "The Angel of Death"? He's just a frick'n puppet. He has no thoughts of his own. Jenova controlls him. Not too mention he's so stupid he doesn't know that Meteor will KILL HIM!!!!!! What an idiot!!!!
