TeamSpeak beta - Talk to other Zelaroners live!
 

I installed TeamSpeak this morning, which is generally a program used for talking to other people live via microphone in a chat room. In a way, it's a bit like a microphone-based IRC.

Either way, it's up right now, and while WetWired might kill me once he finds out (yes, it does sound like a bandwidth hog at first), you can all simply get the client at:

The TS2 Win32 Client is likely what you will need to download. It's 5.8 mb, so beware, hamster-powered 28.8 modem users.

Anyway, once you've installed the client, simply connect anonymously to www.zelaron.com and you should be sent right into the Zelaron channel. From there on, you might want to choose Settings > Sound Input/Output Settings from the menu to bind a key to the talk mode. I would recommend you bind caps lock, as other keys seem to add a the standard Windows "you can't type any more" repeated sound. So, simply push and hold caps lock while you want to talk, and ramble on.

Even if you don't have a microphone, you can always join up the fun, but expect people, me in particular, to complain and tell you to buy a $3 microphone from Walmart asap.

You wouldn't want to hear my voice, plus my mic is shit (half the time it doesn't even pick up sounds)

I usually can't talk to people over the internet because my voice is too deep. Unless I purposefully talk with a high voice, which makes me sound like a fruit cake.

Haven't seen anybody in it in a few days. I'll get on once in a while and see if anyone is there, or at least idling... but oh well.

Me and a few buddies went on TeamSpeak last night to play Enemy Territory and some dork came on and asked us if we from Zelaron and he kicked us when we said "Huh?". We were in the middle of a game and it was quite annoying. Why do you create a password free public server with permissions to create channels if you don't want the public joining and creating channels? Especially since no one else was on your server. If you are just going to be constantly kicking people you should consider changing your permissions. The guy who kicked us was rude and didn't even bother explaining what the hell Zelaron is.
