If you want to be happy with someone who's just dumped you before, that's cool. However, at a later date if he cheats on you again then you were just asking for it. If people with families do shit like that, why do you think your highschool boyfriend won't again next chance he gets (or if he hasn't already yet)? Has he gone through some major life changing event or something?

no. because i know that its different, and just reminding me off all the shitty things isn't going to help. if he does it again i know i walked into it, but until then, he's treating me better. why can't that just be that. I want to think of now. not what happened, and now what could possibly happen.

I'm reminded constantly of what has happened to me, and that keeps me strong. At least once a week it comes up on here or between us but there's nothing you can do about it. All you can do is really really hope that your not believing bullshit NOW.

and i was really skeptical at first. and compared to my LAST relationship, this ones golden. THAT one keeps me strong. I still think of him as that guy he was 6 months ago, but hes really not. its hard for me to trust, it really is, and i will never completely get over what happened, but id like to try to be happy.

Not all of us have that kind of money, I imagine a lot of the others (like myself) have both themselves and their significant other going through college at this point.

Also, why would it be stupid for the one you love to buy you something that would make you happy? That's like saying men are stupid for buying women a shiny rock someone found on the ground and put it on a shiny metal loop, or buying you flowers as they all serve no practical purpose.

Maybe it goes deeper than just making the fella happy. Buy him a gaming console, and he'll spend a lot of time on it, and the wife or girlfriend gets more time alone. Buy him a truck, he goes out driving more, the wife/gf gets more time alone, and there's the added bonus that she can then use the old car whenever she wants.

I don't think one needs to worry until you are given a gun. :rolleyes:
