So it's slow cooked soup. It's still soup.

HandOfHeaven 2005-12-18 05:24 PM

Mmm, having soup tonite.

WetWired 2005-12-19 01:13 AM

Maybe cereal is chowder. Isn't chowder milk based?

!King_Amazon! 2005-12-19 01:20 AM

chow·der Audio pronunciation of "chowder" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (choudr)
n.

1. A thick soup containing fish or shellfish, especially clams, and vegetables, such as potatoes and onions, in a milk or tomato base.

I guess cereal might be considered a chowder, but not really. Cereal isn't really a "thick soup".

I think what it all means, is that "soup" is a catagory, in which the specific "stew" lies. they are not equal in the pyramid of definition for example a rectangle is a category and the square is in that category, hence a square is a rectangle, but a rectangle isn't a square. confused yet? good. here's something else to chew on: a rectangle is to a square as a soup is to a stew. still don't understand? perhaps I can help: a stew is a type of soup. ok?

Vindicate_1476 2005-12-19 04:14 PM

I thought we were talking about "cereal".

After all these pages we can't find a conclusion? Seems like a simple enough question.
