I don't get it. The Playstation 2 plays DVDs just as good as any DVD player. So you're not making a point. You spent money on a DVD player for no good reason at all. And you have a 56 inch TV? What kind of TV is this? Mitsubushi makes 55, but I have NEVER seen 56.
|
I have.
|
...Horrah? I'm sure you have. Ha! I love it.
|
Yes...you love that.
Also, why does it matter? |
Because he doesn't have a 56 inch TV. And I bet you've never seen one. 55 sure. Not 56.
|
Alright, maaaybe it was a 55.
Anyways, the one major thing which annoys me about the PS2, is the 2 controller slots. |
Get an adapter

Problems with the PS2? It's a nightmare to code for. That's why Playstation versions of multi-platform games more often than not come out with the lowest resolution, worst framarate, and most glitches.
As for the DVD player argument, I've only run into one or two slight problems with it. Aside from those fairly meager and infrequent issues, it runs just as well as the Panasonic DVD player attached to the TV in my living room. My one other complaint about the console is that the game selection, in my opinion, sucks. I own Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2, and Silent Hill 2. That's it. I have yet to see so much as one other game on the console, aside from Devil May Cry, that has sparked my interest in any fashion. Silent Hill 3 will be great, and if SR3 and BO3 are PS2 releases, I'll pick both up. Other than that...it's just...bleh. |
Okay, they do make a 56" tv thank you. Apparently you think that only Mitsubishi makes Big screen TV's. Mne is a Sony, and it is 56". And I have to say still that PS2's don't have the same high quality as a DVD player. It just doesn't look as good.

I got a message off this site that said that by removing the console cover of my Playstation 2 I would find two pins located undeneath the expansion bay (right about where the laser is). By turning the left one in (clockwise) I was to get a better response from the laser and no more "Error reading Grand Theft Auto: vice City DVD". It didn't work. However I removed the cover and then turned the left pin in about two more turns and the right pin in about one and a half turns and it worked way better with better picture. The pins are probably to adjust the angle of the laser. If the angle is off the Playstation cannot read the DVD correctly and you then get your error message. This seems to be the solution for the most common problem with the PS2. It would help if you have an O-scope to meauring the wavelength and angle of the laser for pinpoint accuracy. Hope to find more cool tips here and to provide more later.
