Show me your proof.

I'm not saying it isn't, but most people sound so sure of themselves that it's starcraft, when there's no proof at all.

I doubt it's an expansion to anything, as they've skipped all their expansions. So, it's a new Starcraft, a new Warcraft, a new Diablo, a new RTS title, or... something else altogether. It won't be an MMO. They're not that stupid.

I'd like to see a new Diablo more than anything really. There are a lot of Diablo clones out there, but I haven't found any of them as fun as Diablo 2 was. I guess, after D3, I'd like to see Starcraft 2. Nothing against it, but I was never as big a fan of Starcraft as everyone else. I really don't care to see WC4. The storyline would most likely be interwoven with WoW, and since I don't play Wow... As for something new altogether... *shrug* Starcraft Ghost?

They're supposed to be announcing it at 10:00 PM tonight(eastern or pacific, I can't remember, one of the two, probably pacific)

They've also been hiring people for a diablo project, if I remember right. I'm not sure, the actual facts point in all directions, so it's anyone's guess.

There's been lots of images of this(and other) Command and Conquer Starcraft mod floating around as "proof" that it's starcraft 2. It looks pretty, but it's not Starcraft 2.

I'm not going to lie, that disappoints me. I was hoping for a Starcraft 2 or a D3 with amazing graphics.

That would be cool. Id want to be a ghost, but so would everyone else. they'd be the new rogue. Dark TEmplars probably wouldn't be playable.

Hell, it could even be an announcement that they're picking the Starcraft: Ghost project again.

It's definately possible, though in my eyes it's somewhat unlikely, but that's only my personal opinion.

I doubt they would start all this hype if they were just re-announcing a game they already cancelled. But it's possible.

Well, considering there was a large fanbase for Ghost already started, I wouldn't be shocked if they made it a huge announcement.

I know they've had postings on their site hiring for a next gen MMO, where WoW was not mentioned at all, so they're already working on WoW's successor. I doubt that's what this is for though.

If they're working on WoW's successor already, Blizzard isn't as good at business as I thought.

WoW is still in it's prime. They'd be stupid to let it go now.

Unless they've been working on whatever it is for the past however many years, then their announcement will be an announcement, leaving them two or three years to develop the new game, and for WoW to have a few more years at the top.

Right, but think about it. A MMO takes multiple years to develop, WoW will already have been past its prime by the time they'd be announcing their next MMO. Next gen would be making a whole new graphics engine and all, this is going to be a serious project.

WoW was in development for a long, long time. If they haven't started working on the next already, I'd say that would be worse business practice.

Competition with themselves isn't as huge a deal as one would think, datacenters can be migrated to their new game as WoW's subscriber base declines, which seems especially smart if they end up losing any real portion of their fanbase to other games before their next one comes out.

I wouldn't expect a new MMO from Blizz for 2-3 years minimum.

WoW can be sustained with patches imo. Don't need xpacs.

I always thought Starcraft would have some good potential for a MMO.

If anyone knows of Battletech, I think that would trump any MMO made by Blizzard if whoever produced it does it right.

Check that out. Why would they go through the trouble of making an SCII trailer without actually starting on the game. I think they're definetly going to make some kind of SCII, whether it's strat or mmo. We'll just have to sit and find out.

It now works, Starcraft was announced last night in Korea at Blizz's World Wide Invitational.
