Who made Cross-country a sport? All you do is run across country for a bit, run through some cow shit, a patch of stinging nettles, and then bang your shins on a low wall. A loada shit cross-country.
Are you fucking nuts? Cross country is extremely hard dude. You may be thinkin of some pansy ass 3k runs, i got back today from a cross country meet and i had run 7k. Your nuts.

MightyJoe 2004-09-28 04:57 PM

no tennis??!?!?!!?!? i'm in that though

Lenny 2004-09-29 10:24 AM

Wilma, where about do you live? America, England, Scandinavia? Where? No matter where you are, cross-country is not a sport. It is a however long run across country, not a sport, a punishment against you when you're PE teachers are feeling kinda vicious. 1 whole hour, running around a track, into cow shit, nettles and low walls cannot be classed as a sport. I'm not seeing it's not hard, it is hard, especially the hard dry-stone walls.

Hades-Knight 2004-09-29 02:53 PM

You know life is over when you cannot participate on a sports team because you have no money to buy the things needed. I know what I must do....

Lenny 2004-09-29 02:59 PM

Wat on earth is he eating???

Mydogisyourdog 2004-10-01 04:51 PM

shit. i just choked laughing.

anyways, SOCCER (this is an American Board) is a sport, in my opinion. It consists of heavy physical activity, choices, team work and making plays. Making things happen. Cross -country, you just run. what the hell is the coach even for? the cross country coach at our school even says he is useless.

"Yeah, good job mikey, good running."
or
"Run faster" duh

Xenn 2004-10-01 09:01 PM

If you have natural talent you don't need a coach (unless you want to be super-good). However, coaches (ours anyways) lays out a schedule for what you need to run (i.e. distance one day, speed the next, thresholds, hills, etc.). He also sets up the meets, gives announcements, gives personal advice, gives tips for running a race (it's far more complicated than you might think).

I like cross country because we get to go mess around in cool places and it keeps me in good shape.
