I get you. Here's how it goes:

Win a game: 3 points
Draw a game: 1 point
Lose a game: No points.

We play a number of games per season. At the end of the season, the bottom three in each league go down a league. The top two in the league go up a league. There are then playoffs between the teams in positions 3,4,5 and 6 of the league. The overall winner of the playoffs goes up a league with the top two.

So, yes, in a way, lose too many games, and you go down.

Yeah, thats what I was getting at.

Righto. What about American Soccer. What sort of system do you guys have?

MightyJoe 2004-09-23 11:21 AM

We don't have soccer.

kockblocker1 2004-09-23 12:27 PM

This poll is BS. ItÂ’s pretty obvious, real Americans are going to chose Football over Rugby then the remaining communists will be voting for Rugby.

HandOfHeaven 2004-09-23 08:50 PM

We have the MLS (Major League Soccer). There are if I'm not mistaken 10-12 teams, in 2 seperate divisions. Then they have the playoffs in which the bottom 2 teams don't play and the others play for the Cup. Sort of fucked up, I generally just turn on Fox Sports Net and see who is playing in the EPL, or download games that Argentina's recent national team play.

actually "soccer" is supposed to be spelled Futbol, but the English stole it and changed the spelling to their language.

BTW, the games are two different sports. Football is NOT watered down Rugby. Let me put this in perspective. Football is all about knocking the shit out of the other guy. In Rugby, you practice form tackling so that the little guys can tackle the big mothers. Second, Football is one play at a time. Rugby is non-stop until there is an injury.

However, i prefer Rugby. It is a gentlemen's sport (you know if you play). I play both football and rugby at my school. Football PT is hard to come by unless you are hella good. Rugby, everyone gets to play, even if you suck.

On a side not, i was part of the 2004 National Champion Rugby Team ;)

HandOfHeaven 2004-09-24 06:30 AM

Two differences. Football players are big and strong. Rugby players are just solid in every place of their body, which I would prefer to be. Rugby players are much more physically fit for the game, but I think it is lunacy having a bunch of people fall on you in a scrum, so I chose football.

Lenny 2004-09-24 10:18 AM

You chose football, because of the lunacy? OK. I've said it before, I'll say it again:

you only get piled on in the scrum if your team sucks ass. The point is to stay up so your hooker can get the ball back to his team. Football is a dog pile everytime someone runs the ball, So you might want to rethink that extremely Flawed statement.

Lenny 2004-09-24 11:40 AM

Who rethink? Me? Or HOH? I don't pay much attention to reality any more.

You completely misread my post. I said I chose football because rugby is lunacy.

slaynish 2004-09-25 12:15 AM

What position did you play?

My brother plays rugby and i plan on practicing witht hem this year.

Its for sophmores to seniors, but they said i'm an exception, and i can practice.

Mydogisyourdog 2004-09-25 09:55 AM

I play any back. I have also played prop and hooker for the hell of it. But usually i am inside center. They wont let my play winger.

Lenny 2004-09-26 04:18 AM

You gotta love rugby. It may hurt but if you're good at it, or playing with a load of people still practising contact tackling (instead of tag) then you can just barge through.
