Saint Seiya/Knights of the Zodiac

best thing ever, except the american cartoon network version which blew ass

Sovereign 2004-05-18 07:12 PM

The mega man cartoon was the ownage!!

Neko 2004-05-18 07:41 PM

Two other good shows I remember, the Muppet Show and Pete and Pete. They were both so witty, so funny, so unlike most stuff today. I would kill for Pete and Pete on official DVDs.

Sovereign 2004-05-18 07:44 PM

Pete and Pete annoyed the fuck out of me. They always acted so stupid.... Like the time pete sold their house.... or that time they were having lawnmower races..

Thanatos 2004-05-18 08:34 PM

Fuck! I can't remember the names to any of these shows I'm thinking of. What was Pete and Pete about? I can't remember!

Oh, and what was that show where a bunch of kids went to that summer camp and played big jokes and crap? Was that Salute your Shorts?

HandOfHeaven 2004-05-18 08:54 PM

OMG Salute your Shorts was awesome. I think that's what you were talking about. I just remember Budnick and Donkey Lips. Man, what a great show.

A Mr. Wizard marathon is on right now. Channel 284 on Direct TV. On the Discovery Science Channel. Just thought you all should know.

KagomJack 2004-05-22 02:01 PM

Here's a show I bet many of you have either forgotten or never heard of: Roundhouse...the precursor to All That, but more mature and funnier...it wasn't on long...but it was the best skit show next to SNL at the time. And it was on Saturday nights on Nickelodeon (spelling?)

Also, it came on after "Are You Afraid of the Dark"

Grav 2004-05-22 03:09 PM

Are you afraid of the dark was the WORST show ever.

Rocko's modern life was mildly humorous.

Dude, Are You Afraid of the Dark was awesome with its original cast, but Rocko's Modern Life was THE best show at the time.

Jamesadin 2004-05-22 06:18 PM

G.I. Joe, Transformers, He-Man and Ninja Turtles. Those shows encompass just about everything I remember television-wise from my childhood. I vaguely remember watching them as a kid, but none of them (with the exception of Transformers; I cried when Optimus Prime died in the movie) hold any real nostalgic value for me.

Video games are a different story. I remember playing the original Legend of Zelda with my older brother late one night when I was supposed to be in bed, my mother completely oblivious to it, of course. I remember my parents throwing a block party on our street and a few of the neighbor kids from a street down played the second TMNT game on NES for hours. I remember playing Mega Man 2 with my younger brother all day and beating every boss except Heat Man. Video games have a much more constant nostalgic presence in my memory than anything else, honestly.

Thanatos 2004-05-23 08:30 AM

I played World Cup(NES) for a significant amount of time.

Jessifer 2004-05-23 12:07 PM

Heh, I remember watching my mother play Tetris like there was no tomorrow. She was obsessed with that game.
