Really? So it is a full O.S. and its free? How would I install it when the computer I have is already running Windows XP? I dont want to sqrew anything up.
I heard its not good with games. If thats not true I think I might put it on this computer too. |
You can keep both OS on your computer at the same time. You download 3 cd's (which can be somewhat tedious), burn them as images, and reboot your computer with CD1 in your cd-drive. Change your BIOS settings to make it boot CD first, if that is not already done. During setup, it will ask you if you want to partition your hard drive. Go ahead and do that. That way you will be allowed to boot into windows whenever you want, or linux whenever you want. Personally, I got rid of windows altogether, but it's true that you can't really play too many games on linux. If you want more info on linux, I could probably help you out a little bit.

My computer is using a dual-boot, too. Red Hat 7.1 on one partition, XP Pro on the other. I'd wipe XP out altogether, but I'm still fairly new to linux.
