I hope so that would be great.

Asking which console is going to "last longer" is a pretty retarded question at this late stage in this generation. Both the next Sony and Nintendo consoles will be out by this time two years from now.

Oh, and to whomever said that Nintendo is going to get bought out by Microsoft, you've got to do a bit more research before spouting things like that. Nintendo has no debt, a giant wealth of 1st and 2nd party resources, a quasi-exclusivity contract with Capcom and the most successful console ever created (Game Boy) in it's corner. Nintendo just spent somewhere around 2 billion dollars this year buying back their own stock to make sure that Microsoft can never buy them out. From Preisdent Iwata's own mouth: "The day Nintendo stops making consoles is the day Nintendo leaves the gaming industry."

On to other topics.

I don't like online gaming, and in my opinion, that's the only thing XBox has going for it. The game library doesn't interest me in the slightest, considering that the only games I would buy on XBox are all on Gamecube as well, and the GC versions are capable of either being better, just as good or almost as good. The only other games on XBox that I give a damn about are Rareware games, and after playing Grabbed by the Ghoulies for ten minutes, Microsoft can have them. I'll wait for Game Zero on Gamecube.

The PS2 is a good console, but I don't really like the game library all that much. The Legacy of Kain series, Ratchet and Clank, Silent Hill and Devil May Cry are the only Sony-exclusive franchises that I really give a damn about. If there's a multi-platform game I want, I buy it on Gamecube.

My personal favorite is Gamecube. It has the best exclusive game selection and the multi-platform titles always come out better on GC than on PS2. Plus, it has the best selection of multi-player games ever, and as I said before, I don't care for online gaming.

So, to summarize:

XBox
1. Crappy selection of exclusive titles (except Rare games, and that's a gamble now too)
2. Multi-platform games are usually the best quality (although not by much)
3. Online games (don't care)

PS2
1. Some really great exclusive titles (although not many)
2. Multi-platform titles are usually the worst
3. Online games (don't care)

Gamecube
1. Great selection of exclusive titles
2. Multi-platform titles are always better than PS2 versions, and usually almost as good (occasionally better) than the XBox versions
3. Best selection of multiplayer titles
4. Extremely limited number of online games (but, as I've said before, I don't like online gaming)

Gamecube is my choice. Super Smash Bros. Melee alone has twice as many hours put into it than all of my PS2 games combined.

gamecube multi-platform is not as good as Xbox IMO, and PS2 isnt fun if for solo games... I really dont like the multi games that they have that Xbox dosent

Usually, no, the GC's multi-platform games aren't as good as the XBox versions, but occasionally they're better. PoP is a good example.
