Maphacking is bad : I guess.
Well i guess it s bad to use maphack but that aint gonna stop no one just like in diablo ppl bitch about hack yet use them.

Maphack give unfair advantage : True.
Well im sure i dont need to give explanation on that one.

all it does is ruin the fun of the legit players : True
Legit player seek challenge not ownage and even if legit player win against maphack user he wont be having fun.

it doesn't enhance the fun of the maphacker... : False
Most maphacker are in it for winning to rape their enmy and make replay of their leet cheating skills.

I used maphack for a while when i used to play Broodwar and i was winning most time but after a while i noticed something was missing ... It was the Thrill Of Suprise,The Scouting, The risk taken on expanding and after a while i even lost skill cause i would make up against what other would build removing basicly all what the game is about. Stopping using maphack wasnt a easy task cause it s hard to make a step behind.
So i had to leave maphack but i would turn it down to lower level at first and scout when needed i ended up not needing it anymore and i was having fun again.

Maphackign is used by newbs who cant win otherwise: end of story.

I dont think it gives that much of an advantage, but I agree Starcraft is about fun what fun is it if you have an illegitamate advantage?

Sometimes I use it FOR FUN, but most of the time I don't. I usually play 1v1 so I get my ass kick by plenty of people with and without it. It doesn't give that much of an advantage.

Exactly.. but let me explain, the whole idea of starcraft is to suprise/counter your opponent, and kill him after he makes a mistake.

If your actually good, and you take away the counter/suprise factor, you will NOT lose, EVER, not to the best person in the world, if your pro level, borderline even, you could beat anyone with it.

If you see an expo and an opening, and you waste 400 of their minerals, boom, upper hand, if you waste thei rnatural, boom you win.

Well its a bitch when ur playing and u exp....and then the maphack just shows them where the exp is. Then they can just wait till ur trooips are somewhere else and mow down that exp. If u lose a lot of probes then ur fucked, because it takes a lot of time to restart ur resouce input.

Ya. Well I know I won't be considered good to you guys by any stretch of the imaginition but I started playing SC on money maps and thats how I play to this day. I've tried switching to normal ones but I can't cut it. Soooo nevermind about my above comments.

Yeah well whit maphack when someone used to expand and protect it i would just put lurker between that area and his base then i would piss off unprotected area untill he bring back troup that would die by the lurker.

Anyway like i said it take of fun suprise challenge and blahblahblah.

Yeah well replay does help alot tho i prefer watching live :-) i dunno on us west but on us east there a channel called clan x17 where ppl 1vs1 and well you can join their game and watch.
Just dont disturb them :)

Huh, I'll check around w/ that too. I've heard of that Boxer guy before on other websites. Anyways I d/l a few replays and it seems I can't play them...? It says Cannot play back the file. Format is not supported.

Hum i might be wrong on this 1 but i recall something about 1.10 wouldnt support 1.09 replay when it come out.

But i really aint sure about this it was long time ago so i could be totaly out of the track.

Ya, except it doens't always work out that easy. I'm sure chaos has tried that. Half the sites are The Top 100 SC sites and the other half you cant actually find any maphacks, or they are old dead links ect.

Just find a nice decent clan and work your way up.

lol yeah i installed sc:bw yesterday and noticed how all the top 1000 in ladder were all 9999.
