Nintendo doesn't have much to worry about, in my opinion. The Game Boy is the most succesful video game console ever, and it's destroyed every technically superior opponent it's ever encountered. Game Boy is unbeatable. End of story.

So its the most successful "now: What about after the PSP comes out?

That is very true, Raziel. Game Boy will likely always be more succesful, don't get me wrong. But that doesn't mean its better than other consoles. The PSP will shatter it, gameplay wise, if my expectations are correct.

I hope it does. Don't like GBA. Don't know why, just don't.

And technical superiority doesn't mean it's better either. The games are the ultimate deciding factor in the value of any console. That's why the SNES was the best console of it's generation. It had the best games, hands down. 3DO, Atari Jaguar and NeoGeo were all technologically superior to the SNES, and they all flopped because the consoles didn't have the software to back up the hardware.

The case will be the same with the PSP. On the home console front, the majority of 3rd party developers are going to stick with PS2 for the simple reason that everybody else is sticking with it. The case is reversed with the handheld market. Nintendo has held the absolute reins of the portable market for the last 5 years, and 3rd party developers aren't going to want to risk banking their futures on a less predictable product. GBA is a surefire path to success, and letting go of certainties like that (for no real gain) is just a stupid move.

Along the lines of power, it doesn't mean stronger = better. Because when X-box and 'Cube came out... They both were better than the PS2, but the programmers didn't make use of the extra power. Games are better today, but it took Nintendo and *ugh* Microsoft a good long while to catch up with PS2 because they already had a start. Now, Gameboy has a huge headstart on this PSP, and they have a much larger fan base from what I know. I don't expect much to come from it.

I expect something similar to Dreamcast if Nintendo does what it usually does when problems threaten to arise: Man Up.
