[13:17] Chruser: I can't really pay for it out of my own pocket for a significant period of time. Some secondary strategy may be of some avail, e.g. optional member subscriptions.

[13:18] Chruser: But the question is, why would anyone subscribe? The sole promise of getting the "word out" on Zelaron is probably insufficient.

[13:19] D3V: You could offer to host boards for guilds on various games, and draw members in tha tway, possibly.

[13:19] Chruser: That's a good idea. Using the arcade as bait isn't as viable.

[13:20] D3V: Yeah, the arcade is something more you grow fond of after you join and post, for most people.

[13:21] Willkillforfood: I was hoping to work the whole Summer but I have to take a summer class to graduate a semester earlier

[13:21] Chruser: Anyway, I mainly referred to what the current Zelaron members would gain for subscribing for paid accounts. The clan hosting part is a good bait for the SA banner itself.

[13:21] Willkillforfood: I have some academic scholarships but they aren't nearly as lucrative as the need-based ones, sadly.

[13:21] D3V: ah gheyy!! oh well, graduation is way more important.

[13:22] Willkillforfood: Tuition is going up 9% this upcoming year

[13:22] D3V: You could always implement something smaller Chruser, such as a donate buttion that could link to your paypal for members that would gladly throw down a few dollars just for the heck of it.

[13:26] D3V: Not really, Google is rich because of advertisements.

[13:27] D3V: Maybe with the portal you could have them on the outer page.

[13:27] Willkillforfood: If it's not a full page of blinking ads or shit that installs spyware, I'm game.

[13:30] Chruser: Currently, around 500 unique visitors per day. May 2007 was better, with 1050 on average. The rest of that year was around 700-800 or so.

[13:30] Chruser: In other words, we have declined in visitor count as of late.

[13:30] Willkillforfood: If we start spamming the world record thread will it increase it?

[13:31] Chruser: Because we are working on the upgrade, a new portal, perhaps a new theme and so on, it could be of some avail to start advertising as well.

[13:31] D3V: It's because less people are posting news articles.

[13:32] Chruser: Posting informative treads would increase the amount of visitors from Google in the long run.
