[04:24] D3V: math structure discovery? do tell.
[04:41] D3V: you should make a Youtube channel dedicated to math and science. I'd beat.

[12:09] Demosthenes: Make a post, Chruser. In what field of mathematics?

[12:38] Chruser: Complex analysis. It's related to the distribution of zeros of certain sequences of polynomials (think Gauss-Lucas).
[12:46] Chruser: The limiting distributions of the zeros are, at least in a number of cases, planar embeddings of trees (in the graph theory sense), whose edges are smooth curves.
[12:47] Chruser: I can't elaborate too much right now, but suffice to say, it's pretty cool. I've seen a few similar trees in zero distributions of eigenpolynomials of differential operators, but I found them in a far more approachable area.
[12:52] Chruser: Unfortunately, describing the structures exactly is pretty challenging... Even for straight lines, things like generalized hypergeometric functions and Meijer G start popping up...

[12:56] Demosthenes: Cool stuff...I'd be interested to take a look at the paper once it's published.
[12:56] Demosthenes: You a pure math guy?
[13:01] Chruser: Yes, something like that. I'm finishing up my MSc in math at the moment.

[13:21] Demosthenes: Gotcha
[13:21] Demosthenes: Well congrats on your publication
[13:21] Demosthenes: Definitely an exciting moment in a young scientist's life.
[13:21] Demosthenes: Is this your first?

[13:52] Chruser: Yes! I don't really consider myself to be a mathematician as much as someone who plays around with Mathematica a lot, but it's pretty exciting anyway.
