Any of you guys seriously play Chess?

I've always been interested in chess and shogi, but have never invested significant time.

Hmm. The reason I ask is so far I've never really studied Chess much but I'm going to start going over some annotated grandmaster games and was wondering if anyone had done that before. I'm basically looking for advice on how to get the most out of that process.
