Anyone playing this? Add me on steam: 1337thug
Right now I'm a level 28 Outlander. Trying to find some more people to play with.
Can you tell us a little about it (particularly compared to the first game) and whether it's fun enough to buy?

My experience in the beta was that it was more fun than D3.

I never actually played the first game. I wasn't even going to buy it, but I played it at my friend's house and it was a lot of fun. Basically you get a lot of upgrades for your toon early on, and a lot of the side quests/things are fun (fishing, combining items, etc.)
The combat seems really fluid, at least with an Outlander. I've heard people say Diablo 3's is better, but honestly I disagree. Graphics are cartoonish, but aren't distracting.
For $20, you can't go wrong. It is way better than Diablo 3 IMO. You could always try to find someone who bought multiple copies of the game, or download the free trial.

I would have to call someone an idiot if they said Diablo 3 is better than Torchlight 2. It isn't even worth comparing. Diablo 3 is a garbage game designed around the RMAH. Torchlight 2 is what Diablo 3 should have been had Blizzard not been so greedy.
As far as comparing Torchlight 2 to the original, I would say that if you liked the original you will definitely like Torchlight 2. A lot of the same stuff is in Torchlight 2, such as pets and fishing (where you catch fish that transform your pet or give it bonuses). I didn't really play it long enough to say anything other than it seems like a very well improved version of the original.

The game is very casual which I like. It's not all about getting the phattest loots and selling them for a profit (Diablo 3) but just having fun. I'm not dying every 5 seconds like I did in Diablo 3 just because I don't have $1,000 worth of gear.
Been playing it for a couple of weeks now.
1. It definitely IS the savior of us disappointed in Diablo 3.
2. Profit.
Purchased it. With monies.

Picked it up during the sale. But I also picked Borderlands 2. So that's what I'm doing.
