Rate the current styles

[WetWired]

Please take a moment and try each of the following forum styles and give each an integer rating from 1 to 10 (integer meaning 4.5, 3.2, etc isn't allowed). We require that all rating posts include a rating for each style and that each rating is genuine. We will use two simple conditions to filter out entries that appear to be someone just saying "I use this style the rest is shit", so be honest in your ratings. Dark Angel- 6 (not enough detail)
Night Vision-8 (Good Job on this one)
Subsilver- 5 (too bland)
Windows-6 (not bad, but could be better)
Mako- 8 (I like this one)
Diablo II- 8 (fits the game well)
Ocean- 9 (My all around favorate)
HUD-9 (Nice)
Zephios Dark- 9 (a nice change from Zephios)

Zephios - 8 (Nice colors, easy to read)

Plastic - 7 (Good colors, nice overall feeling)

Dark Angel - 5 (Very strange colors, still fairly easy to read)

Night Vision - 4 (Too much green, I can't stay I like it much)

Subsilver - 3 (Terribly white, I really don't like it)

Windows - 6 (Easy to read, decent colors, albeit somewhat plain)

Mako - 5 (Very easy to read, while some of the odd colors are really ugly)

Diablo II - 4 (Lots of broken links, hard to read, bad colors, yet a feeling that makes it somewhat livable)

Ocean - 8 (Very abstract, and the colors are perfect. It's a perfect standard vBulletin style change, but some more details would have helped. Zephios added some, but the blending background can be annoyingat times)

HUD - 2 (Sure, it doesn't have green all over it like NV, but the colors are still horrible)

Zephios Dark - 7 (Nice overall opacity, pretty nice futuristic look, but overall, I don't like the readability too much, while it's still a nice theme).

Zephios-8 (Easy to read with the colors)
Plastic-7 (It's nice, very bright)
Dark Angel-8 (Very good colors, a nice banner)
Night Vision-5 (Too bright)
SubSilver-3 (It's too dull)
Windows-7 (The standard theme, easy to read)
Mako-4 (It's very similar to Dark Angel but with bad colors)
Diablo II-5 (The banner is decent, the colors are horrible)
Ocean-8 (A nice banner, pretty good background, easy to read)
HUD-2 (Bad colors, somewhat hard to read, and it's a rip-off of another theme)
Zephios Dark-8 (Nice colors, easy to read)

1) Synthesis
2) Zephios Dark
3) Plastic
4) dont care about the rest.

id give them all 5's except plastic gets a 0 because it has a ripped header and zephios dark gets a 7 its the best one

For those who havn't figured out, we are voting on the old styles to find out which ones get to die when Synthesis becomes the default style. Synthesis will become the default style whether or not anyone likes it, though from what I've heard most will. If you don't rate them or don't rate them all, then your post does nothing toward that end.

Anyway:

Zephios: 7--nice style, but too bright
Plastic: 8--it was the best until I made Zephios Dark
Dark Angel 5--too much contrast
Night Vision 3--way too much contrast
SubSilver 2--this is not phpBB 2.0
Windows 3--buttons too dark for rest of colors, showthread top too dark also
Mako 6--nice colors, but not great
Diablo II 3--looks half finished
Ocean 4--big space between stuff is ugly, what do people see in this style?
HUD 1--Night Vision made uglier
Zephios Dark 9--hmm, let's see: I made this one to my tastes, of course it's my favorite, but after seeing what the new style will be I can't give it a 10

The only one that I think absolutely must die is HUD

its easy to read, its simple theres nothing crowding your screen and some people prefer light colors over dark colors, simplicity over techy

Zephios - 7 the mix of ocean's blues and those greys/silvers doesnt work for me that well

Plastic - 8 good for a dark theme.... only one major drawback.. the *coughrippedcoughbannercough*

Dark Angel - 5 seems like a diablo2 theme lacking the same icons or banners

Night Vision - 2 ow my eyes

SubSilver - 3 too much white, way to much

Windows - 3 read SubSilver

Mako - 7 decent mix of colors easy to read

Diablo II - 7 if i played D2 i would prolly use this one

Ocean - 10 simply the best, none of that dark foreboding stuff or that techy silver stuff.. pefect match of colors and very easy to read, easy on the eyes, my choice of theme

HUD - 2 deja vu..... or is it. a slighty diff colored night vision

Zephios Dark - 8 put together well... but ill never be able to see it what the heck is up with all this dark themes on the net?

Zephios -6 Average style, good colours.

Plastic - 9 I like the different shades of blue.

Dark Angel - 6 Its a bit dark, and I don't like greys that much

Night Vision - 7 I guess I like this because I'm used to seeing stuff in green and black in games.

SubSilver - 4 To light.

Windows - 5 Standard looking style, nice contrast between the grey and blue.

Mako - 8 Nice dark colours

Diablo II - 6 Some of the images are broken for me and I just don't like the pic of the stealskull...

Ocean - 8 Nice blues, fairly good readability

HUD - 6 The teal colour just doesn't tempt my eyes..

Zephios Dark - 8 Fairly good theme

Ocean was my original favorite since it was unique and easy to read and such... nice default there... but now I use Zephios Dark cause it kicks...

Plastic - 8 Great theme, I like the onmouse over for the categoryus

Dark Angel - 2 Fug town

Night Vision - 0 Guess xenn made this one, looks similar to orange

SubSilver - 8 Readable and perfect imitation of phpBB

Windows - 2 Readable

Mako - 5 I hate dark shit

Diablo II - 7 Nice

Ocean - 6 origional and boring as hell. Want the same color theme, look at zephios

HUD - 6 night vision with different colors, better theme

Zephios Dark - 6 Too dark for me, and a bit 'dirty'. Needs to be cleaned up

Synthesis - NOW (7) DONE (10)

I like synthesis but I find it hard to tell which forum's have new posts because the arrows highlighting don't occur often enough and are hardly noticable... (This many be my computer screen tho... I'm not sure.)

They changed it to a red that moves frequently. I give synthesis a 9, it will definitely be the best theme.

Well, feel free to give me some feedback so I'm sure about what to actually work on. Taco said he didn't like the difference in table width between the 1st and 2nd level (forum list and thread list), but I'm not too sure I can agree with him about that.

The style display shows your current style from your profile. The actual style you are viewing is affected by a cookie on your machine. If you were to view the forums from a machine you hadn't used before or you delete your forum cookie, the profile style would be used. Also, I think the cookie resets periodicly.
