I'm writing a story that takes place in 1899, but I need to know how much money was worthy.

I'm guessing now-a-days the money they'll be getting is about $100,000 so if you can convert that into 1899 monnies, that'd be nice.

Think about it, If your parents used to be able to go to movies for a nickle. These guys could have gone to the movies for a smile? I don't know shit about history. But wasnt the currency different back in 1900? Idk, someone will post back telling me how retarded I am.

So $100,000 is about $3000 to $4000, right? Just making sure I got this right from everyone elses view.
