View Full Version : Thinking about starting up again
Run now?
I know i've had a few threads like this before, but it's time again where I have an itch to just play some damn video games, and the new WoW might be fun? I'm scared about it turning into my crack, but I really wanna play WoW blazed so it's becoming very tempting.

I wouldn't worry about getting addicted to it. The latest expansion was disappointing to me. Gear is stupidly easy to get.
Regardless, I still play sometimes, out of boredom. Jess plays alliance on Dalaran, I made a DK there recently.
Play short round based games like Call of Duty. Less addiction there.
Yeah, the last time I got into it I only had to log onto my epic druid and just run some short AB games or whatever. I might go through with it, some of my old IRL buddies still play for whatever reason so I might go hit it up with 'em. I just want to make a damn Death Knight.

I play a horde death knight with a buddy from work on Borean Tundra, and I've got an 80 mage on Mal'ganis that I'll probably be transferring soon (Nikki still plays on Mal'ganis with all of our "WoW friends" which generally just makes me uncomfortable).
I thought you already played? For some reason I thought you did.
DK's name is Grobbley, same for the mage.

Myself and Tuttifrutti are still playing. We are on Llane horde.
Me: Akuaku
Her: Luminaire

Oh no, I haven't played WoW since June or so. I gave up on it. My friend has my old Druid so i've had to start from scratch. I made myself a troll mage.

Awesome, awesome. I wasn't even sure if anybody on here played. How're the death knights? I just want to get back into end game so that I can do some PVP. Hmm.

Deathknights I know at one point were damn near unstoppable, if you look back at the most recent tournament you will notice that damn near 90% of all the top teams are Retribution Paladin/Deathknight.
Tanking DK's:
The problem with DK tank's is that they are built for avoidance. Which is fine, but they take tremendous spike damage with no real way to mitigate it. They have their armor of course, but being able to block attacks is invaluable. We have a DK MT (maintank) in our guild, and he spikes pretty hard. I prefer something other then that, however they are very fun to AoE tank with.
Dps DK's:
A good DK can easily pull 8,000 dps in 10's. I knew one who could do it in 5 man's but they are very few and far between. The hardest thing about them is managing your Runes/Runic Power/Rotation. Master that and you are set.
PvP DK's:
While I was going through a PvP phase I had my dk run around with nothing but gloves, and scored the highest honor multiple times. I would play the annoyance and just run around chains of ice'ing people (spammable, with set bonus). When I switched to trying, I had my tank gear on. I could get jumped by six guys and be alright. Popping cooldowns makes you damn near invincible in pvp. They are a lot of fun. Also, the selfheal makes 1v1 fights fun.

Now this is what I like to hear! Is there currently a specific class of DK that can dominate the others?

I was told by some buddies to go ahead and make a Paladin tank as they are always needed and are somewhat valuable still endgame.

Classes are more preference then anything, no racial makes a single class superior. Look at each classes racial and decide for yourself.

Tankadins are the place to be, they typically are highest dps in heroics (as tank) and have mitigation, avoidance, and stamina. Their holy damage is unmatched to the current undead content.
If I had to order the tanks in my personal favorites...
Tankadin, Protection Warrior, Feral Druid, DK
Okay thanks dude, i'll keep yah posted once I get around to it if I need any advice.
Well I finally got my mage to 69. He's currently about half way to 70 and it only took me about 2 months of casual playing every other day or so to get back to this point. Now, i've basically been using the Dungeon finder system the entire time, and until recently had not realized that Alterac Valley now gives experience, and a lot of it.
I probably had even posted on here about it, but have completely forgotten about it until about a week ago. And in the past week i've gotten 4 levels from it. If any of you still play, take advantage of it, the experience is wonderful. And if you're going to get stuck with a PUG it might as well be in AV where you can get more worth for you time.
72 now. I've also recently started a new druid with the 'Refer-a-Friend' program. Holy crap, the combined experience is amazing. I'm already at 22 in about 4-5 hours played, as well as my friend's alt. It's going quite smoothly. I wish I would've done this sooner, but better late than never. I'd highly recommend getting somebody you know on and playing with linked account, the 300% experience boost, free mount, and 30 minute cooldown summon is pretty worthwhile. Even though the effects only last until level 60, it's quite nice for leveling an alt.
