View Full Version : Ripping RedBox movies?
Anyone know of some decent decrpytion software that is capable and compatible with ripping those Redbox movies for "personal use" of course? I haven't tried searching around yet, but figure'd I'd just ask on here first.

I probably do, I just don't know what redbox means :D
Those damn little DVD rental hubs located outside of MOST McDonalds around here, and a few Wal-marts. They are 1.99 per night rental fee and you can just swipe your credit card to pick it up, and when you are done watching it just drop it off at ANY location.

I've never seen one of those before. But if it's a DVD, use DVD Decrypter. It has a brute force cracker in case it can't crack it through normal means.

Hehe, I've never heard of those either. Yea, I use DVD Decrypter all the time to rip dvd's onto my Ipod. Videora is the program that's giving me trouble. If I have time, I'm going to look for a new one...

My store has one. They jam up all the time because people are retarded and try to push the movie in before pressing the button that says "Returning Movie".
Outside of that, they're pretty cool. They accept only cards as payment.

Thanks! I'm going to toy with it tonight. I don't mind using my card as it's all I use for shit like that anyways.

Same problem around here. Me and my brother were thinking of making a ripoff company of RedBox called bluebox, and just include old favorites of movies that people would like to watch again, rather than new releases?

Sounds like a good idea to me.
I've gotten into the habit of getting these on a regular basis. Now that I have a PS3 I've just recently rented a Blu-Ray version of My Bloody Valentine, as well as Blu-ray The Uninvited. Probably the best $2 investment of my entire life.
Still haven't burned any yet, still no burner :(

What of it?
I saw a Blockbuster ripoff of Redbox the other day in a local Publix. I am suprised it took them this long to make their own version.

Your BlueBox idea is probably destined for a trade-dress infringement lawsuit. Basicly, if your presentation of yourself is similar enough to another company's that people believe you might be the same company, that's trade-dress infringement.
