The Debian word file (/usr/share/dict/words) contains approximately 62,000 words, but I've been looking, without success, for something more exhaustive. Has anyone come across anything that I may find useful?
For reference, the English language contains approximately 500,000 words, barring specific scientific terminology. A word list that extensive would be that ideal, but I don't expect to find anything like that.

Id recommend you go through each encylopedia, but I'm sure you have already done that... go outside.

That's probably what he wants it for--he's planning to bruteforce our Zelaron passwords!

The latest publication of the Oxford English Dictionary (2nd Edition) contains definitions for about 600,000 words. I don't know how many volumes it runs to, but that'll be one of your best bets. I think I'm right in thinking that it's available digitally.
If anyone is interested, the 3rd edition is currently being worked on, and is estimated to be completed by 2037, and has an average of 4000 new words a year added to it.
