Here is a very, very well written and explained Guide to being a restoration druid.

http://www.resto4life.com/2008/03/03/24-mana-regen-part-1-the-basics/

Seriously, if you have ever had any questions/doubts/thoughts about being resto, or even rolling on of the most efficient healers on WoW then you need to take a glance at this website and read up a bit.

Very useful information.

I love resto as well.

Not even just in PVE, in Raids, but PVP as well. The Druid class gives me that upper-hand with survival, as well as being able to keep my entire group/party alive. The versatility of Druids is phenomenal, and this website goes into pretty good detail of the resto aspect.

Hmph, what server do you play on?

Moonrunner, you?

Ah, Andorhal here. Had a long run on Lightning's Blade but it just got too full back in the day to stand, so when server swaps came up me and a ton of my RL buddies bailed.

I wish I could join a new server I need an excuse to get out of my dead end, elitist, retarded guild. I have no where else to go though and i've been there for like 2 years and I kinda don't want to leave, I only like about 2 or 3 people there.

Hey man, what level are you? If you paid for a server transfer I'm sure my RL buddy could get you into this guild if you are actively on the game a few times a week.

I have like 4 characters i play and i can't play too often, its sporatic.

Ah okay, gotcha. Hell I'm basically the same way I tell 'em I can be on all the time, but really I can't. I don't get home from work 'til like 6-7 most of the times, and I like to be in bed around 10ish so between then I've gotta get dinner, hang with my girlfriend, shower, etc.

Yeah I have stuff to do I need to do and I also play with other things, i can never join a real raiding guild because i can't be at their beck and call 24/7.

My friend tried appling to a guild, he doesn't play often at all, and they basically told him he has to be ready at a moments notice to raid and he couldn't join since he has a life.

Well what's nice about this guild is you can signup for different slots. There are two kara teams, we asll as a team 3 full of PUGs that missed out on team 1 + 2 and still want to raid, as well as many other instances, and you can apply for 2 days a good month ahead of time that you know you'll be on, and your spot will be reserved.

Coffeedagger

That sounds better because its just organized sign up rather than, "ok everyone has raid or i /gkick"

D3V

Yes, they've been very organized since I reactivated my account. They use "Guild Calendar" which you can download througuh 'Curse-gaming'...

I swear to God ...as a mage ...druids are very annoying to fight.

D3V
2008-05-14, 03:23 PM
Just work that element of suprise and keep us silenced/burning. When we go to retaliate just iceblock and use it to your advantage, I have hardly no trouble with mages, but if played right you can beat either side.

Yea, if they have good enough gear it's impossible to kill one without an initial crit.

D3V
2008-05-14, 03:30 PM
Oh yeah, of course. Then again being resto you can't kill anything, so meh. Lol

I'll take my holy paladin anyday.

D3V
2008-05-15, 07:44 AM
Eh; Paladins have their advantages as do druids, though for raid healing and anything generally relevant Resto druids > Holy pallys.

Coffeedagger

I think it goes like this:

Holy Priests > Resto Druids > Resto Shamans > Holy Pallys

D3V
2008-05-15, 01:41 PM
That's about right, Holy priests still hold that excellent top spot.

As they are rightfully meant to

if someone beat a class that was really "meant" for healing at healing then something is wrong

Asamin
2008-05-15, 02:51 PM
That is the same with many games. The sad part is you generally can beat the class that is made for something with another class.

I made a melee sorc in diablo. It did more damage than most Barbs of the time. Go enchant!

Personally though, I suck at healing in any game. It is kinda weird. I am just horrible at it even if I have the best of everything, I still suck.

See, now I'm the total opposite. I've always been an excellent healer, no matter what game it is, (Medic in various games.. BF2) I think being a healer, especially in WoW requires a deal of premptive thought knowing what you have to do before it happens, almost a perfect class for somebody with OCD.

definetely D3V

Also asamin if everyone doing their job right, and the player is not an idiot, a class not designed for a specific job should never beat a class designed for said job. It doesn't happen in most games, it can in certain games but those aren't discussed here and thats also diablo 2.

Asamin

I don't know about that. I saw one monster of a melee shammy.

Yea yea yeah. I went to Kara last night with only (+932?) to healing and did just fine on 'Mag'.. I kept the MT alive while the rest of the raid was doing their rotating ..etc etc. I respec'd FULL 61 resto and it made the fight unbelieveably easier. Even though after the raid I got bitched at a bit by the raid leader saying my gear was shit etc, I just made the point to him that you can't go off the healing meters, just look my target was kept alive, which is awesome for the gear I have.

Anyways..

People are idiots like that, I hate it when people only look for healing bonuses and gear.

Asamin
2008-05-16, 01:24 PM
If you do everything right, with his gear you could heal more than someone with full T6 that did everything wrong.

D3V
2008-05-16, 01:24 PM
Pretty shitty isn't it? My RL buddy who is also the GM basically told me who cares and that I did fine in Kara, so all is well, lol.

Asamin
2008-05-16, 01:26 PM
I would like to have been that person you were healing. Do you have a damage meter? If you do, how much healing did you do?

D3V
2008-05-16, 01:28 PM
Something like 95k for the whole fight. But what you've gotta take into consideration is that I was only healing ONE person, as thats the only person I was assigned to, and to NOT LET DIE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, sorta deal. And the others were all raid healing, which definately will make your numbers huge. I had almost a 75-80% mana bar the entire fight until we wiped and still was even with the other healers for the most part, so I don't even see why the raid leader said anything at all.

D3V

Yeah, so I didn't play at all this weekend or yesterday :( I think i'm already having withdrawls. Right now would be a good time to just quit playing that damn game, again. Ugh!

Coffeedagger

I'm happy I'm not addicted. I play sometimes, it is hard to pull away but not that hard. I don't think I've ever been addicted to the game. But it has lasted the longest out of any game or item I have bought ever for a toy, With the exception of tin foil, that never loses its fun factor.

D3V
2008-05-20, 01:35 PM
Hah!..

Well, I usually play when I'm bored. And lately I haven't been going to the gym, but just playing basketball for an hour or so (much more of a workout, and less time spent overall, definately).

Anyways, hmph. I'm going to be writing up a nice 2v2 guide as a resto druid/run-a-way spec. As well as a raiding guide with some simple tips to go by as a raider.
