*gulp* Steelers gonna either shine, or get murdered. 8 playoff teams.. Damn!
Ah yes. I'm so excited for the season to start! The Jaguars have a total of three 'Prime-time'.. the schedule features a Sunday night game at home on NBC against Pittsburgh on Oct. 5, a Monday night game on ESPN on Dec. 1 at Houston, and a Thursday night home game against Indianapolis on NFL Network on Dec. 18.
Fourteen of the Jaguars’ 16 regular-season games in 2008 will be played on Sundays, with 11 scheduled for one p.m. ET kickoffs and three late-afternoon games. The schedule features four playoff teams from 2007 and six games against playoff teams – Tennessee and Indianapolis twice, as well as Pittsburgh and Green Bay. The Jaguars will have 10 games against teams that finished .500 or better in 2007 and four against division winners, and the three nationally-televised prime-time games are tied for the third-most in team history (four in 1999 and 2000) and the most since 2000.
With this new found exposure, atleast more-so than last year maybe 'Jacksonville Municipal Stadium' can finally get a naming sponsor before the season starts, which would be nice. The have been talks of it becoming 'Acuvue Stadium' (contact company) but who knows.

Football season is upon us! I can't wait. The only thing that would make this offseason better would be if the Eagles traded for Ocho Cinco.
Dude, as much as a lot of people hate CJ I wouldn't mind seeing him go somewheres else, after I had him on my FF team like 3 seasons ago (when he blew up) I've always been a big fan of his, and for the Eagles to get him and possibly resurrect their team would be a sweet thing to see, I'm also a big McNabb fan.

I think I would multi-orgasm immediately if we traded for him.. No lie.
Dude, it'd be pheaseable. I know CJ would love to play in Philly with McNabb

I know he would too. I'm pretty sure he and McNabb are actually decent friends in real life.
Damn, just thinking about it makes me excited. Honestly, I fucking hate almost every team in the NFC, but seeing the Eagles do well would be a good thing, hell I wouldn't mind them going to the superbowl.

Welp, time for another Colts superbowl. Get ready ya'll.
Wow, you should really consider going into a career in comedy spewing shit out your ass like that
You know for a fact that the Jaguars aren't even going to let you guys win the division, let alone beat them in a Wild Card matchup.

Keep on dreamin, buddy. Wait till Peyton retires, then you guys might have a chance.

I officially have a boner over football season lurking around the corner.
:D
Yeah really. Our season tickets are already on sale! ACK! I don't care how conformist this may be or how I let the fanaticism take over my entire body, I love football and the NFL, and that's all there is to it.

Yeah so Week 1 was definately interesting. Tom Brady out for the year? Jags and Colts both get stomped, wtf is going on?

What happened to Brady?
Torn ACL? I'm not exactly sure, a knee injury and he has already been placed on the Injured Reserve list.

I saw the video of it, some guys helmet came in from the side and bent his knee in a way it wasn't suppose to bend. They said that he had a season ending injury. and if i remember correctly they said it was his ACL

You dont need that piece of shit, you have Jackson now, eventhough he is a rookie, still better than half the AFC receivers.
My Giants have an easy start, thank god, but face tough teams (especially divisional) weeks 8-13. Its the only time i can think of where the Superbowl Champs can come back and still be a decent team, and come in third in the division.

The Giants D still looks solid as shit even without Gaphan and Osi.
Seriously D3V, your Jags looked like fucking shit. I mean, MJD and Fragile Fred had like a combine 100 yards rushing AND receiving between the two of them!! Fuck that, they better get back on track. Indy looked rusty too. Maybe you're right and their time is coming? I don't think so though, it's just a matter of time until Peyton is back to his old form.

The Colts will win next game guaranteed. Book it.

Same with the Jaguars. We signed two lineman, and Jerry Porter comes back this weekend. Buffalo played very very well last weekend, however I don't think the Jaguars will lose their home opener. It just won't happen.

How about the Eagles. No one in PA thought they were going to be any good at all. Everyone was just like "The Eagles are going to suck this season". Yet they are pretty good.
I'm picking the Steelers to make the Superbowl for the AFC. Ben Rothy is the man!
But I'm a Bears fan

Fuck the Bears.. they ruined the Colts chances of going 7-0 for the 4th straight season. :(
One of my personal favorite games of the year,

Yeah yeah.. fuck off.
What if the Jags go 0-2? o_O
Shit happens I suppose? The Colts could go 0-2 just as easily as the Jaguars could, I just don't see either team losing this weekend.

The buccaneers are going to win, so I dont understand this entire colts vs jags reference

I was, I don't really keep an eye on football durring the season, up until the super bowl that is. My favorite team is probably the buccaneers only because their helmet looks awesome >_<. When the super bowl comes around I'll start to cheer for one or the other.

As a Giant fan, i cant STAND the Eagles, Cowboys and Redskins. But i am also a realist and will say now that the Eagles have the best chance to make some noise in the NFL this season. Eventhough they pounded a real shitty Rams team (God i hope the GIants do the same this Sat), their true calling will be monday night when they face the cowboys (who are garbage). Please make Toni Homo go back to cabo with his hot ass girl friend Jessica.
As for the colts, they will probably win this weekend with Peyton coming back and not being so rusty. The jags on teh other hand will probably not fair as well, but i do think that they will be contenders for the AFC.
I'd like to be optimistic and just say judging the entire season off of just two weeks is somewhat absurd. There is still a lot of football to be played. The NFL is played on a week-to-week basis, if we beat the colts Sunday, those first two losses will disappear.
Thanatos
2008-09-15, 01:19 PM
They won't disappear, you'll just be 1-2 but I really don't think you'll win. Colts are playing at home and we're itching to get our first win in the new stadium. With our offense clicking at the very end of yesterday's game, we're going to continue that pace and get back on track. I'll admit, though, if the Jags defensive line can control the game, you guys will win. Our O line right now is HORRIBLE. We have like 3 rookies, 1 guy we signed in the off-season, and only 1 familiar face. I'm really hoping our linemen will be ready by Sunday, if not then the Jags will likely win but I have a strong suspicion your beloved Jags are going to start the season 0-3. Uh oh! :D
0-3 would really make me depressed. Then again, Jerry Porter is returning this game, chauncey washington, witherspood (speedster return guy) coming back into the game. Our O-Line actually looked decent this past game. Mike Peterson is coming back. I mean, it's just that we haven't had much depth, and the past two games we have played were both in 85+ degree heat and huge humidity.

I'm really dreading this football season, I mean my favorite team was the green bay packers mainly for the reason of Bret Favre, but he's been such a dissapointment as of late and not to mention his most recent trade. ]: Now I'm not sure if I should follow him to the jets or stay with the Packers, I mean Brett Favre wasn't the only thing about the packers I liked. (I guess) I also liked Ryan Picket and Brandon Jackson. But eh, I might trade for the giants, Eli manning is still one hell of a QB. For me I like football teams based on their QB not really anything else, (maybe wide recievers and line backers but eh, not so much)

The Packers are doing extremely well without Brett Favre. Their QB now (Aaron Rodgers) is lighting it up, as far as the first two weeks are concerned. So you're a bandwaggoning fan, eh? :) Just kiddin, but it's nice to see a girl knowledgeable about football.
Welcome back, by the way.

What a great game on Monday night, even though my Eagles lost. Thought for sure that Indy was going to lose... Nice comeback. Peyton better pick it up man, I'm losing faith...
MJD... I need a lot more out of him. 0-2 doesn't help....
I've got MJD on my pay league, so I need him to step up too. He has a sore ankle still, but he's going to play sunday, and play well hopefully.

Jack said he is going to be getting more touches, so he better make good use of those.
Definately, MoJo was complaining about it in week two after nothing was getting done, He kept telling them to just keep giving him the ball and he's going to explode. We will see what's up at Indy.

Honestly, I'm hella worried about our run defense at this point. MJD and/or Taylor could have HUGE games... man I'm nervous. Can't wait till Sunday!!!!

MAN, What a game! 23-21 Final score, Jags take the victory. Nothing is greater then being able to log on and remind Thanatos until the next time these two teams play, that they had their asses handed to them on several occasions, and the Jaguars come out with the 'W'

23-21 on a last second field goal is not having our asses handed to us. NE got their asses handed to them, though. BY MIAMI. rofl.

Looks like I was right. Our run defense fucking blows. That's a major problem.. blah.
Here is a nice little compliation of the Jaguars stomping the Colts.

Yeah, hardly an ass handing, but that doesn't matter, now does it? The "W" is all that matters. Peyton is certainly looking very pedestrian lately....
